i just got this camera and it is working great! Hikvision DS-2CD2135F-IS. now i would like to add audio so i can watch and hear my newborn remotely.
this video shows how to add a non-powered mic to any Hikvision "IS" model

since i cant find that non-powered mic anywhere in usa, i will go with a powered mic. how can i add this 12v mic from amazon to my cam?
maybe a better question would be, how can i add a mic for audio recording/monitoring?

thanks!

I have the DS-2CD2132F-IS with similar powered mic and found the procedure
pretty much the same as described in that youtube demo.

Connect 12v power to the mic with normal barrel jack - you do need separate power
and cannot get it from the camera when using PoE. The mic's line out goes to the
camera's audio-in terminal block. In the web UI:

Configuration -> Video/Audio -> Audio
Encoding: G.711uaw
Input: LineIn
Volume: i set at 20 but probably only adjusts gain when using MicIn
Noise filter: ON

On the Video don't forget to set Video Type: Video&Audio. You should then be able
to turn on the audio in live view or when viewing recordings after the mic was connected.

or you can just cut the plug off and strip the wires.. if you want to put a plug back on for some reason you can buy one of those and put it on the bare wires you left
