Interesting, there was a thread here in August on these cameras.

They show in-stock at a few websites I looked at but no pricing.

ALI Express shows them for $258 (not Andy's store, hopefully he will have some soon).

so i got my hands on one of these cameras....and Im a little disappointed. I cannot turn off the supplemental light, and there is no IR which means its total darkness if there is very very little light.

Thats the idea with these cameras, you are suppose to use the regular light

Thanks for posting, if the light is always on, that would be a deal breaker for me.

ETA Based upon my interpretation of the manual, in day mode (full color) the supplemental light is off. This may not be ideal but with streetlights, I would think it would work well.

Yes I agree...but once street lights turn off...you got nothing.

I could see that.

It would definitely be situation dependent. I have a full color Dahua 4239 (F1.0) that does well with just streetlights.

Yes but you bought the wrong camera for that use case. You want a active deterrence style if you want the light on just when their is motion

It can be disabled - but the location in the web GUI varies with the specific firmware version.

In Australia we are still waiting for Hikvision suppliers to stock this model and it's looking a lot like it's going to be next year before we see them here.

Yeah... That will be great. Because I'm thinking of replacing the Amcrest 2499 with ColorVu Turrets DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) when it's available on Amazon too. Too bad
Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X does not have turret version of it.

Pretty much the same camera as the DS-2CD2087G2-LU which is a bullet style and this is a turret style but around the same price here in UK
I see there is a Black version also. 2.8mm & 4mm

Does this cam have missing object detection? I couldn't find it in the data sheet?
