I searched the internet and searched this forum, but my question is hard to be answered.
At this moment I am looking for a very good cam for outside to watch the birds in the big garden.
I use it with serveillance station.
I allready have some MP8 dome cams of Hikvision and now I thought I want to buy the 8MP bullet version of it.
But in another topic I read that this cams are small and not the best because they are little.
Can someone point me to the better/best cam to buy?
It is really hard to find someone that can tell me, so I hope someone can help me here.

What Hikvision models do you have? Best cam to buy - what is your asking price?

Search this forum for topics containing "review". These two are very good:

Your asking a very broad question with no parameters or details. You want the best Hikvision 8mp bullet camera? Here ya go.

Actually I told you what I want to do with it and I told you what experience I have with cams.
I did not say it has to be Hikvision, but I want to use it with surveillance station.
I also had a 4MP cam, but I experienced that a 8MP has sharper view.
I cannot just buy al camera's to experience what cam is the best. So I hoped you have experience that tell me what cam is awsome for a good price.
I think motor vocals become to expensive and I think I don't need that.
Just a very good cam to watch the birds :)

Well I don't know if it is the 'best cam', but the one reviewed in the link below is quite a camera.

No, it has a smaller sensor and is less light sensitive:
Image Sensor 1/2.5"
Color: 0.01 Lux @ (F1.2, AGC ON), 0 Lux with IR
Color: 0.014 Lux @ (F1.4, AGC ON), 0 Lux with IR

I think this one can not be used outside in the rain

For 8MP hikvision bullet cams, I can find these cams, but I find it hard to say, what the differences are. Also I don't know if Hikvision is the best. (For payable price)

Study data sheets of all posted models and make a table/sheet with all features for your use case (watching birds). When this would be my use case, I would look for this:

DS-2CD7A85G0-IZHS
Image Sensor: 1/1.8"
Minimum Illumination Color: 0.007 lux @ (f/1.2, AGC on)
FOV: 2.8 to 12 mm, horizontal FOV 112.4° to 41°, vertical FOV 58° to 23°
Main Stream: 30 fps (3840 × 2160, 3200 × 1800, 2560 × 1440, 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720)

DS-2CD2T85FWD-I8
Image Sensor: 1/2.5"
Min. Illumination Color: 0.01 Lux @(F1.2; AGC ON)
FOV: 2.8 mm, horizontal field of view: 102°...
Main Stream 50Hz: 20 fps (3840 × 2160)

DS-2CD2085G1-I
Image Sensor: 1/2"
Min. Illumination Color: 0.008 Lux @ (F1.2, AGC ON)
FOV: 2.8 mm, horizontal field of view: 102°...
Main Stream 50Hz: 20 fps (3840 × 2160)

DS-2CD7A85G0-IZHS and DS-2CD2085G1-I are pretty close, both have a nice large sensor to provide you a good picture but DS-2CD2085G1-I can do only 20 fps @ 4k, so the birds will look a little bit jerky while moving.

This is what you can expect from the 1/1.8" sensor of DS-2CD7A85G0-IZHS, IPC-HFW7842HP-Z or IPC-HFW5842H-ZHE:

This one is also nice but have been declared "End of Life" by manufacturer: IPC-HFW2831T-ZS.

This one I can not find on Ali, but I can find this one: DS-2CD2685FWD-IZS. But I can not find out if this one also is 30fps and have no idea about sensor and such

That is a thing I did not know it is important to have more fps. How much do you need?

That look really nice I think, although it is close to the cam without really distance.

This is a Dalua. You have experience with it? It is still available on Ali:

Probably a PTZ with a high zoom level is better for this. Without zoom or even the 4x zoom bullet cameras usually have, you'll get no details of the birds if not mounted very close to them:

That looks nice! Can you zoom with surveillance station? Is this better than hikvision versions?
Via Ali almost 700 euro

There are also models with 1/1.8" sensor and 4k@25-30 fps available.

Surveillance station compatiblity list: Surveillance Station IP Camera Support List | Synology Inc.

Sooner or later you'll find out that paying per camera, limited hardware and compatibility is not a good choice. That's why most here use Blue Iris for watching and recording video.

I especially bought a expansive Synology server for this. I am afraid blue iris won’t work on that.

so as long as I find a camera with 1/1.8" sensor and 4k@25-30 fps. I am a bit save?

No, you have to stick with models in their list or contact Synology support for compatiblity first.
