I am wanting to get a dash camera for my vehicles. What brand/model should I be looking at? Thank you for any input as I have never used a dash cam yet.

I bought the Garmin 47 and Its helped with one accident where we got sideswiped. I like that it shows all the data you need to help with date time speed and location.
But I think I'd like to try one on my next car that has a front and rear cam.
Garmin mini 2 is easy to use.
They both have an App where you can review incidents on your phone.

"Best" is subjective. You need to define what it is you want from a cam. Then find one that fits the bill.

I use the ROVE R2-4K Pro in my Class A motorhome. I have been very happy with it.

Yep me too. About to buy my first

He had a early production model for reviews i assume.

The hookup will be doing testing and hitting them with a hammer soon.

Just an FYI, this guy had a Viofo A229 Pro fail in a real accident. Not known if it's widespread with that model or not...

Followup vid...

Thanks, gives me pause....

I need to find a physical store retailer that wont mind when i walk in with a 3lb to do some "testing"

VIOFO A229 Pro and VIOFO A329 are the only one with newest 8Mpx 1/1.8" IMX678 Sony Starvis 2 sensor in front and 5Mpx 1/2.8" IMX675 Sony Starvis 2 sensor in back...

There are only a few other models from other companies with that IMX678 sensor (Vanture 4 PRO, 70mai A810)...

Everything else on smaller sensors (even Starvis 2 ones) offers worse night performance...

ps. VIOFO as a brand has developed a reputation for caring about support / user comments / issuing frequent firmware updates that bring new features.

2022, I take LTT vith a grain of salt but share the level of cynicism in this video which kept me from getting a dash cam sooner.

I've been considering the VIOFO A119 MINI 2 (currently $114) or A229 Pro ($280). Everyone likes to imagine a dash cam helping them in the event of an accident, but that isn't necessarily the case. Currently, I'm more concerned with capturing details of parked cars, interaction with law enforcement, and a mentally unstable neighbor than I am your average car accident.

I was involved in a rear end accident where I was sandwiched between the cars behind me and was pushed into the car in front of me. The insurance company (Geico) from the driver I hit called me to try to blame me for rear ending their covered client. I promptly told them what happened and that I have video of the entire accident. They had nothing else to say, and Never heard one peep out of them again. Do you ever wonder why most cars in Russia have dashcams?
