Blue Iris UI3

First off I want to thank Brian for continuing to update his UI2/UI3 tool. I encourage everyone to donate to his cause through paypal for making BI a better tool to use with his help for the add on. Unfortunately, I use a Samsung smart TV for my main large monitor to view real time video, and not interested in reviewing clips or panning the PTZ in that application. The Samsung smarthub TV does not support the new APIs that are used in the UI3 tool, but work great with UI2. I cannot get a full screen view on the TV, with the icon in lower right corner, but very happy with UI2 after setting correct setting in BI UI. Although, I use it on travel to review clips on a win10 laptop. I do not expect Brian to support all these different clients, because it becomes a nightmare for support. UI3 looks like it works very well on a win10 Chrome browser use, but the size of the clip review thumbnails makes it very difficult to see for a review. I have many different clients set up for UI2 and UI3. Brian, Thanks for ALL your support and help with your tool! I am sure everyone feels the same. People like you make this Forum so great. Keep up the great work.

@handinpalm If you don't care about clips on TV browser, try adding ?&maximize=1 to the UI3 URL.

Man this is awesome, thanks so much!

Question... Can we launch into full screen mode automatically by passing a parameter in the URL string?

I used to be able to use a string like this in the URL

Ui2.htm?full=1&cam=camname&full screen=1

Currently this loads the cam expanded however it doesn't minimize the UI and enable full screen

@skarragallagher Here are more examples that @bp2008 's UI3 supports:

/ui3beta/ui3.htm?maximize=1
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?tab=live
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?tab=alerts
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?tab=clips
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?group=groupname
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?cam=cameraShortName
/ui3beta/ui3.htm?tab=alerts&cam=porch&maximize=1

If these URL params do not work for you, double check that you are using the latest UI3 version.

P.S. Please donate to @bp2008 if you use of UI2/UI3. Tremendous contribution to our community. His donation link can be found on first post of this thread: I made a better remote-live-view page

The enter the same address i used on the computer, http://xxxxxx/ui3beta/ui3.htm
Here is a screenshot from my S7.

You could try using Download Fiddler Web Debugging Tool for Free by Telerik as a proxy server and configuring your phone's wifi connection to use the proxy server. Then the fiddler app shows complete details of all the web requests and responses. That is how I analyze the Blue Iris android app's traffic to figure out how certain undocumented features are implemented. Assuming the blank page problem still happens through it, this tool would at least be able to reveal to you exactly what the request and response packets look like and that probably would indicate what is wrong. However for someone who isn't used to doing this sort of thing it won't be easy and you wouldn't necessarily know what to look for. And you've got to disable the proxy connection in your phone's wifi settings afterward.

My 2015 samsung 4K TV's browser works with UI3, even with the full screen mode button, but it is so slow as to be unusable the last time I tried.

UI3 looks like it works very well on a win10 Chrome browser use, but the size of the clip review thumbnails makes it very difficult to see for a review.

There are a couple tricks for dealing with this. First, you can right click the clip list and choose to enlarge the thumbnails. Second, you can force "medium" or "large" UI scale in the UI settings. A typical laptop will probably be stuck in "small" scale otherwise and it has small thumbnails that way.

Actual full-screen mode can't be loaded automatically (browsers require the action to be triggered by user input), but the &maximize=1 argument will hide the rest of the UI.

mac, safari, b10.

i have noticed that when i zoom in on live view past 2.5-3x, the screen will sometimes go black. zooming back out sometimes makes it go back to normal. sometimes, i get an orange message box 'your CPU is not fast enough...'.

So today, just for kicks, I tried pulling up UI3 in a browser and what do you know it loads! Looks pretty sweet. Works for a few seconds and then I get an error, something about NTP. I assume this is not meant to be running on a TV browser. Any chance this is an easy fix?

How old is this mac, out of curiosity? I haven't had this happen on mine, although I only tested in Safari once.

I don't know what is going on there. The error message is totally bogus and makes me suspect the TV's browser is injecting its own broken script, and then UI3's catch-all error handler reports the error to you.

Well it appears to be working fine now. Pretty neat! I wonder if it did have something to do with Network Time Protocol? I say that because my primary domain controller couldn't start the windows time service and caused all my camera's and servers to have the wrong time. I fixed it this morning so that's why I think it may have been something to do with NTP. But anyway all good now :-).

UI3 doesn't (and can't) do anything with NTP. It could have just been a coincidence that the error message contained the letters "ntp".

I noticed that you are using an LG smart TV. I have a ~3yo LG OLED TV but the browser (Web OS2) does not allow a very long screen saver disable timeout. Meaning a screen saver comes on after short period of time. I also have a Samsung smart TV that allows a 10 hr disable for screen saver, which I use for the UI2 tool. Does your LG TV allow a long screen saver disable time? If so is it Web OS3?

My TV has an option to disable the screensaver under settings>general>Screen Saver. My TV is about 3 years old also. At least I bought it about 3 years ago but I think it might have been out for a while before then.

It looks like my TV is webOS 1.4.0-2523 so I assume that means it's older than yours. The model number is 55LB6500-UM.

Any idea how to change the web interface timeout?

See pictures below.

Loving the new UI! great work!

Is there any way to do the one camera large, with the rest smaller wrapped around it sort of layout? Essentially, any plans to implement the layout slider like on the blue iris fat client?
