Blue Iris Update Helper (BiUpdateHelper)

Your registry keys aren't where they are expected. If you export your Blue Iris registry keys using regedit and send them to me in a private message (Conversation) then I can try and find the keys for you and fix the tool.

OK, I'll have to get that info together to PM you for both systems. Interestingly, with the Win 10 system that uses its current working license does create a backup of the BI registry entries in a .reg file... and it has quite a bit of info in it... just not the keys.

Actually, is that the .reg file you need? The one that your app creates (that has lots of camera info, but no key)? Or should I be extracting info directly from the registry. And if so, what's the best way to grab all the blue iris entries within the registry into a file for you?

You can send me the one the app created, though I suspect it will be empty or something if the path is actually different from what is expected.

If you can find Blue Iris in the registry, you can simply right click the Perspective Software folder and choose export and it will create a .reg file. If the .reg file is large, zip it before sending.

Sent... but I caught your message about zipping it first. Converted it to a text file to send it. I will attempt to zip it and then send it.

Sorry, it is there now. Let me know if it works; the only BI 3 system I have access to is offline for the last 2 days.

Nope, didn't work. Sent you a PM. If you need to test with another BI 3 system, stop on by! ha ha! :-)

I am having an issue trying to extract license keys from two different installations of multi-camera Blue Iris v3 systems. First, I'm moving a Windows Vista BI v3 over to a Win 10 system. I don't have the email with the original license key for my Vista's installation when I purchased the license a few years ago, so I figured I'd try the BIupdatehelper v1.4 app to view the key. Problem is what you see in the attached photo... When I click BI Registration Info, I get Registration Code: Not Found and Name and Email are blank. So, on a completely different system, a Windows 10 installation of multi-camera BI v3 that is running just fine with its own license key, I get the same problem running BIupdatehelper. In other words, I get the same response from BI Registration Info. Reg code is Not Found and Name/Email are blank. I've tried emailing Blue Iris (to their sales and support email addresses_ to try to get my key back from them again, but haven't heard back from them in weeks. So, I was hoping I could grab the original key using BIupdatehelper. Can anyone help figure out why in two separate instances I cannot get the key to appear using this app? (I also tried various prior versions of the app after 1.4 didn't work for me. Same issues.) Thanks in advance! --Kal
BI4 is only a 30 dollar upgrade..well worth it...you dont need your old key..as long as you have a single valid bi key, he will sell you a second key for 30 dollars..email support..

Thanks fenderman! I was testing the biupdatehelper for the developer, and after some tweaks he made, I did get my key recovered for v3. I might decide to upgrade to 4 at some point (if I can find a compelling set of features to do so... v3 has provided all I've needed at the moment.) There are several v3 systems at work, and so far no one has decided to upgrade yet. And, I never heard back from my email to BI (sales and support addresses) several weeks ago about license issues I've had. Sent something to them again yesterday and haven't heard back yet either. We're concerned about ordering if we're not getting responses back for support.

It sounds like 7zip didn't get extracted along with the exe.

It looks like you were correct. I opened the download and copied the 7zip folder and overwrote what was there and now the error no longer appears.
Thank You

They used to be hosted on the official BI website, if you modified the URL to view the directory that the update files were stored in. But at some point the developer turned off that ability.

I think it would be nice if someone hosted an archive of update files :)
I finally had a chance to write a script to upload the Update files from my blueiris server to my web server. Below I included a link to the site that allows to download the update files that i have from updating my server.

If any one has some update files that need added let me know i can see what i can come up with to allow people to upload files to the folder.

Thanks for that. I'm sure people will appreciate it. Would it be okay for people to link to your ftp site from other threads when people ask for an update file you have available?
