I think they're tied to amazon; that's where I've bought them with the code. As I recall, the link in the email takes you to amazon.

16.R.200418.bin ....Is that to revert to Amcrest or is that a newer firmware than 15.R.200313.bin?

I flashed 2 IP5M-T1179EW cameras with Dahua firmware.
Everything works fine except the mobile apps. Neither DMSS, IDMSS Plus nor Imou Life works with these Amcrest cameras.
The app would think the camera is not connected to the network.

I suspect that this is caused by Amcrest long serial number, 17 characters. Dahua serial number is only 15 characters.
Is this an known issue? Do we have a workaround? Is there any way to convert an Amcrest serial number into a Dahua serial number?
 
This seems like a great deal. Is this model the updated 2431 (4mp to 5mp)?
Is there any advantages using Dahua vs Armcrest firmware?
Does Armcrest have any more discount for say 7 to 10 cameras?
 
I ordered 3 on 7/1. they double charged my card 3 days later, and still had not shipped. Amazon said best to cancel to rectify the rectal ream job. Hope to try again later. maybe this time with a coupon code :0
 
Ordered Sat and arrived today. I upgraded the firmware to the one dated 2020-03-13. Seems to be working fine but I still have an Amcrest logo overlayed on my video at the bottom right. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I checked the video overlay settings and there was nothing there.

Hmm I can't remember how I got rid of mine. I believe it's under Video then uncheck watermark settings.
 
I just opened another new one. This time I used the Amcrest firmware and disabled the logo. Then I upgraded it to the Dahua firmware and no more logo. Do you remember if you removed the logo before you switched firmware?

Now the question is, can I load the Amcrest firmware so that I can remove the logo? Does anyone have the Amcrest firmware?

I've tried powering it on and off which didn't work. Then I did a reset to Factory Default. I had to reconfigure everything but that did the trick :). The Dahua firmware stayed intact.

Edit: sorry, looks like this advice was posted earlier. My bad.

How do you "lock" the cameras view in place from tampering? It looks like it can be repositioned easily by prying hands. Oh BTW the WUXJKDET still worked today 07/09/2020. Took $30 off a qty 3 order.
