I don't think it is because of Blue Iris.
I think it is because something I undersized when I built this computer.
Following is data from my computer task manager.
The only thing that seems to look bad is "Very high" in power usage. It can't be the big 65" monitor, can it? It is not part of the computer.
What do you guys think? I have suspected the motherboard because it is old? I am waiting until new ones come out that do not have the security problems.
The BI videos are recorded to the built in micro sd cards on the 4 cameras.
The computer has a few legacy hard disk drives, but they are not being used except as old data storage.
I use 3 SSD drives.

I don't understand Task Manager shows "Very high" it would make more sense to show data in wattage.
Any ideas what to change?

blue iris does not record to the micro sd card - it cant.
There are no motherboard security problems that you need to worry about. Dont expose your pc to the internet.
There can be a million reasons why the pc locks up. Is this a clean windows install?

I wouldn’t record clips to SSD drives, the constant writing won’t be good for them.

How much memory is in the PC?

How is BI configured ?

Prior to BI I used to record to the built in sd cards.
It never occurred to me that BI does not.
Where does it record?
I have looked but have not found?
Can you tell me?

I am running BI 5 using an i7-4790 with 13 cameras at total of 449 MP/sec. I use intel quick sync on all cameras, with BI motion detection. It use about 18% CPU and 3.1 GB memory.

Please provide a screen shots. full frame
1) windows task manager sorted by memory (most at the top),
2) Blue iris status clip storage
3) blue Iris status cameras
4) Blue iris settings clips and archiving, for the NEW folder, stored folder, alerts folder.
5) on one of the cameras the record tab.

This is your problem. Clean install using the ms media creation tool.
Are you coming to this conclusion because of the close to 50 web page tabs across the top of the screen?

That is not a clean windows install. You have crap all over the place. This is why you are have reliability problems.

Turn off the virus scanner on all BI folders.

You did not provide all the information requested.

You need to read the wiki. Most here use a dedicated PC on which to run BI, not a shared household PC. With loads of other software installed there are way too many variables for people to even start helping figuring out what’s going on.
