Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Ok I’d go 100 on IR and maybe back off the iris to 40-45. The plate and two tiny dots for tail lights should be all you see as far as light.

That plate is lit up, how’s it look with one that’s not so much? Easier to get em when they’re all lit up. I think you’re relying on light instead of IR too much.

Anyway, you’re getting there. Congrats!

Bigred. Hlc on changed ir to 100 far light. Im uploading screenshot from idmss. So quality not great.7FB55399-B081-48C0-A951-31E1B8C89CB3.png347BFCD2-4CEF-4A88-A3EE-E96C2E1D0567.jpeg

You’re getting better IR reflection there. Now if it just wasn’t blurry, or is that just the low res image?...you’re in the zone man. Could try reducing DNR a bit.....

It’s gonna be weeks of tweeking HLC/Exp/iris/contrast but you’re very close.

Now you just have to get the wife to drive around that corner at night for 30 minutes or so till you get it dialed in :p

Hey gansle, i think my distance is closer than yours. My distance to the cars is about 35 feet, so i am not using the full 25x max zoom. But your picture is still usable for identification. I agree with bigredfish, having someone drive in front of camera does help dial it in. I am sure i will have to do all this again when i purchase my dedicated LPR Camera.

That almost looks like a focus issue. The rest seems pretty good.

Try leaving it in B&W 24/7 so you dont get the focus shift problem.

This is my best one do far. Kept it in b/w mode all day. Seems like cam has trouble focusing at night. Im pretty happy with this pic. I took pic with my iPhone off my 4k tv.CCA1C43C-FA97-42FD-8FC1-F1BA05BD043D.jpeg m

Looking good!

The original image off the NVR or SmarPSS will look even better

congrats!

The overall consensus here is that setting up and using presets only with the fixed cameras set throughout is better than using in conjunction with autotracking (if anyone is deciding between the Lite and Pro PTZ models). Good balance of reliability and cost
And this model still has IVS as per the spec-sheet

Original Dahua or "Chinese" Version? I had no problems with the update and I didn't need/make a reset. You already had another problem with the settings before: SD49225T-HN losing settings when restarted
I'm not sure which version. It never had any Chinese language in the firmware. I picked it up from Andy not too long after he started selling them. It had Dahua firmware on it but no Dahua label on the outside. Yes, your right the camera could have had a hardware issue that contributed to a problem wit the firmware load. I Had done a factory reset and was going to upgrade the firmware in the hope it would fix my restart issue and problem with loosing the settings.

Ok, then there is probably no problem with the "wrong" firmware.

I think so.
