Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

The camera is in a temporary location right now. I put a 4x4 post in the ground and mounted the camera to it with a view of the yard. The Ethernet cable runs to a PoE switch in the shed next to it.

Once I figure out a place to install it permanently, I'll tweak your settings to try and find the best results. I think I have too many cameras around here. I'm running out of places to install them. Oh well, besides the security, it's a fun hobby.

Does the 10r firmware have the playback tab in the cameras interface? I have the 6r and it does not have the option to playback. That's enough to make me sell the camera

I'm testing it now on my IPC-HDW4421C Chinese turret and it doesn't have the playback tab. I also have the dome version and it has the playback tab.

im having trouble finding these on aliexpress with english firmware.. Im guessing yall have found them? or using chinese firmware..?

that guy a pretty trusted fast shipping dealer?
U like it better than your 3mp hiks?

I'm not sure if that's the same dealer that I used or not, but the price is about the same. I went back to my original order on Ali and the sellers link no longer works, so maybe they moved their website. I paid $86.32 with the shipping.

I like the Dahua daytime image better than the 3mp hiks but the hiks might have it slightly beat for night image.

I've never ordered from E&M Security, but others here may have ordered from them. The price is reasonable though, especially if you get a free upgrade in shipping by ordering several.

ordered 4.. ill let yall know how it goes.. 83per cam with ups expedited will be a good deal.. Ill have to check back when i get them in to go through some of these settings that worked for you :)

Sounds like a good deal. Let us know how they work out after you get them up and running. :)

Just got my UPS expedited tracking number.. So yea E&M Security is offering free ups expedited upgrade if you buy 4 cameras or more (of this model at least)

What's the best model variant of the IPC-HDW4421? The C, the S, the R? Everyone on this thread received the C?

I also noticed in the posted specs on Ali that they say the bitrate goes up to 32MB/s? How long does it typically take for deliveries from these guys to arrive? Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks! I've just given it a go and it's taken fine and has now added the 2688x1520 resolution to the camera :)

I'm just headed out to work but basically to upgrade just unpack that zip file and use DH_IPC-HX4X2X-Themis_Chn_PN_Stream3_V2.400.0000.10.R.20150618.bin via the web interface to upgrade the camera to 10R - it will take a minute or two to transfer and then will automatically reboot the camera :)

cameras got delivered on 10-29... so pretty fast shipping.. thumbs up for E&M on ali

Great! Glad you got them. That didn't take long. Let us know how they work out once you get them set up. :)

i got them all setup just to be sure they were working.. nice picture .. they are going on a friends new house here before to long.. already put them back in there boxes.. never set them up outside..

Yes, it seems the only Dahua around are either straight CHINESE or Chinese with CUSTOM English firmware.
Any issues with such custom firmware? (The seller told me with the Chinese with CUSTOM English firmware can not be upgraded)

I made a post asking about this, as I didn't know before that there were Dahua with Chinese with Custom English firmware. I thought they were true English cameras overall.

The one I bought has English language with most likely Chinese firmware. There were no other choices for language other than English on the one that I have.
