Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

I have recently received some HDBW4431E-AS cameras from a supplier that I suspect are Chinese conversions rather than original English h/w. As a result they suffer from the well known DST bug where DST settings will not work correctly so the camera shows the wrong time

When I received some of these previously I was able to load the Eos firmware from the first page onto these cameras with no issues (which would fix the DST bug), however this firmware file no longer works on these new cameras.

These cameras came with V 2.621.0000.28.R, Build Date: 2017-09-12 loaded on them.

Interestingly when I click on the Dahua 4431E-AS on the Dahua website they're now pointing to a 5X3X Rhea firmware that specifically lists the HDBW4431E-AS as being supported. http://dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/3701 this differs from the previous 4XXX Eos firmware used previously for 2nd Gen Eos cameras (that the 4431E-AS is)

Does anybody know why this has changed or have the Chinese version of this firmware so it's possible to build a new firmware release?

Hey guys

Meet a problem. Can anyone help?
NVR4108-4KS2 won't connect the camera IPC-HDW4421C-A on any resolution or codec. It tells on port 37777 resolution 0x0. I can connect as ONVIF, all ok, but no motion detection, so something in the Dahua private protocol is wrong. NVR has latest update. Old NVR4108H was working ok.So any newer firmware can solve this problem? I seldom sell these cams, but some clients only need cheap one, cams can't be updated, and the NVR keep updating, this is SUCKED.

Unfortunately the new SIP firmware for the VTO2000A is signed now, too.
If I get a custom file with changed sounds baken again and succeed in uploading it via TFTP, will the device boot up and work properly? Or does the software itself (sonia?) check the signitures somehow?

I had exactly same problem with the same cam and I've managed to solve it using firmware posted here. The trick is not to upgrade via cameras webconfig or configtool which failed every time, but via NVR webconfig (image->registration->upgrade->select file and camera->upgrade). Double check if you've downloaded correct file and if checksum is ok.

I have a one question. I've acquired three IPC-HFW4431R-Z and one IPC-HDW4433C-A. I understand that IPC-HDW4433C-A does not have modded firmware yet.

I read the whole thread and got little confused about IPC-HFW4431R-Z.

For this camera, Can I install firmware on first page? - DH_IPC-HX4XXX-Eos_EngFraSpaRus_PN_Stream3_V2.420.0000.22.R.20161209.bin
Or should I install DH_IPC-HX4XXX-Eos_BETA.bin? - 2.420.0000.21.R Build Date 2016.07-24.

I have a IPC-HDW4631C-A and tried to update it with the firmware for IPC-HDW4631EM-ASE "[PAL]DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.7.R.20170306" but then it boot looped. After that I was able to flash
DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Chn_PN_Stream3_V2.622.0000000.18.R.20171110.bin via TFTP. Now the cam is working again but all in Chinese. Does your firmware also work for this model? I would like to have it in english.

Now modded the chinese firmware by replacing the simplechinese.txt with English and modified the files where the language settings are. Furthermore I replaced the html in the help folder. But this is not working, after flashing it with tftp the camera is still in boot loop.

In a second attempt I just replaced the content of the simplechinese.txt by the english content.This ends in the same result.

I think the problem is because the new firmware is signed. Does anyone successfully modded a newer firmware?

Did you managed to get your own soundfiles in the latest General_VTOXXX_Eng_P_16M_SIP_V3.300.0000001.0.R.20180105.bin or turn them off?

If this means turning the camera from a HDW4431C-A into a HDW4431C-AS, then that's fine. Doesn't such a camera model already exist? Maybe this is as simple as dropping the -AS firmware into the -A camera?

Just did the same; searching for the mount commands to see if there's a resistor or diode I needed to add.

No. I'm pretty happy with "my" personal modded firmware based on 201704 SIP so far.
There are still minor issues mostly related to SIP protocol, that I might have been fixed in the newer release. Main reason is, that the device is already installed at my house' door. I don't wanna mess that up.
If I would have the VTO still in my lab, off course I would give it a shot. You cannot brick it unless you flash the bootloader (what is never neccessary).

Thank you for the modded firmware for the hbdw4431r-zs, is this firmware: For IPC-HX4XXX-NAND-Eos (-ZS models) also working for the hbdw4433r-zs?
 
Hi, for the XVR firmwares can you modify them? the new ones do not bring the USB WIFI option and I want to modify so that this function can be activated in the part of the RED menu.

I dared to upgrade my VTO2000A to latest 20180105 SIP FW and I advise anybody to NOT DO this!
There are some nice benefits built in the firmware but due to a brand new bootloader you are not able to upload something via TFTP anymore. It just requests "failed.txt" via TFTP, nothing else.
Also it seems that dahua f***** up the UART somehow: I don't get anything meaningful out of it now.
