Dahua SD1A203T-GN-W Review

Any updates or video at night?

I just got this camera. Are there any instructions on how to connect it to the network? The instructions included with it only tell how to mount it.

Got it working. I had two problems, one the cat 5 cable I used had some issues which a new cable solved. And two, I could use AES TKIP mixed mode. It had to be WPA2 AES only. AES is better so that was fine.

Now I am spending many hours playing with the settings and seeing what works best. I did have trouble with IVS Tripwire. It wouldn't let me draw the line, it said draw now, but drawing with the mouse did nothing. I did make sure the smart codec was off. Any ideas on that?

I don't use tripwires, i use intrusion boxes. Try an intrusion box.

BTW mine came gouged when I got it from Andy. The box was undamaged, and it was protected by foam. So I wonder if it was damaged before shipping. Andy just said it scratches easily so I guess I am stuck with it.

It soft plastic.. Im sure andy andy wouldnt send a damaged unit.. Atleast it doesnt affect the camera view.

Some sort of compensation would have been nice. Keep in mind it was through aliexpress where it is easy to kick back a few bucks to the customer. How would you feel if you got a brand new camera but it was already scratched and gouged up? A couple of those are pretty deep cuts. :(

This scratches is too big, because before there has some tiny scratches on the black base. we talk about the solutions via email.maybe the 12v 2a adapter inside the box hurt the cam. Because the adapter was added by us, dahua not arrange 12v 2a adapters for their most cams

Question: what camera software are you using to view the feed?

I just bought two of these cameras and finally figured out how to change their IPs. So far I'm just using SmartPSS to view the feed. Would like to see how mine functions with the optical and digital zoom as shown in your sample. So far I'm not too impressed just playing with it in my living room.

Use the cameras web interface.. enter your cameras ip address into web browser. Then login into camera.. there you can adjust all the settings. To be honest inside footage will not do these cameras justice compared to outside

Thanks, I didn't realize it had it's own internal interface. I tried the digital zoom, much much better!

The plugin didn't seem to work with Firefox but I got it going in Chrome. Always makes me cringe when I have to use a plugin, the camera I've used in the past is basically a brick now due to the non-support of the plugin.

you are confusing optical and digital zoom...optical zoom is superior... digital zoom is worthless. There are many browsers that support this plugin and will continue doing so for longer than your camera will last...search the forum.
