Dahua SD49225XA-HNR Auto Tracking Enabled Firmware.

Besides the auto-tracking-- the quality of video coming out of these is fantastic. it's only 2MP, but it is the best quality image of any cam I have.

I do keep motion detection on so that I can record alerts for the neighborhood deer that move through, as well as cats, dogs, coyotes, etc...

My firmware version:
DH-SD49425XB-HNR
V2.810.0000017.0.R.P9.2522.UN.NR, Build Date: 2020-11-23
WEBV3.2.1.984015
ONVIF19.12(V2.8.0.923968)
PTZV2.401.0000000.64.RHNZ_200219_34642
So I suspect it's possible to run auto-tracking, but this firmware version has been removed, so I need the previous firmware version.

From reading the above it seems my PTZ is eligible for the auto tracking firmware, yet it did not come with that ability. It has no smart plan nor deep IVS menus. I see there were links posted to firmware but they are all invalid now. Can someone point me to the proper auto tracking-enabled firmware if it's still available?

That is the correct firmware. You must use Internet Explorer, not Edge in IE mode, but plain Ole Explorer.

Otherwise you may not see all the options.

Thanks, I saw the 15 second timer issue but didn't know the entire menu wouldn't show up. Guess I should have kept that old PC around because nothing I've got has IE and it seems you can't even download it. I'll keep probing around, but thank you again for letting me know this is the right firmware. Now I have an IE issue.

Windows 11 still has Explorer-- it is well hidden, but can be pulled up. There are threads about how to do it.

Well I found an old PC I'd forgot about, has Win7 and IE11, logged into the camera but still no luck. The smart plan and other menus still aren't there. Should IE 11 display those menus under Win7?

That is simply brilliant, I love built-in work-arounds like that. In my case under both IE11 on WIN11, and using the hidden work around I still don't see the menus required to enable auto-tracking. Specifically I'm looking for the Smart Plan and Deep IVS menus under Events.......Which is leading me back to suspect the firmware version is improper.

Which hardware version do you have, the latest ones do not support auto tracking.

I'm not in front of mine now but what shows under PTZ tab - is that where smart plan is

On my camera under PTZ I have only a Function sub menu.
Under Event I have:

Abnormality.

Mine shows the same thing.
When and from where did you purchase this camera?

Maybe you should contact him about this.

Have you tried setting the cam back to factory defaults, then setting it back up from scratch?
I haven’t tried that yet, but that was the next thing I was thinking. but I held off because I did hear back from Andy and his initial response was that it should work and he sent me the PDF showing how to set up auto tracking. I had already been through that, and I read every post in this forum before coming to my dead end.
My camera appears to be the proper one and have the custom built AT software, but the menu for Smart plan does not appear under events. I’ve tried IE under win11 using the hack mentioned above. I also tried regular ol’ IE under Win7 on a different computer.
I wonder if the version of IE is important? Something is bound to make it start working, and when that happens I will post back here what the resolution was.

I can have a look via Teamviewer if you wish pm me ID & Pass
Thank you so much for your help! After logging in via team viewer you were able to solve the problem quickly. All it needed was a full factory reset, but then you helped me set up the auto tracking settings to optimize it for my location and I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to help me. You are a superstar!
