Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

What is the latest firmware version for the IPC-HDW5231R-Z camera? I installed from the disk and i have Ver. 1.13.1 ,(SmartPSS). I don't see any links in the SW for updates either?

This does not appear to be camera firmware, but a windows app? To my knowledge, the latest (tested by nayr) camera firmware is posted in the first post of this thread.

First link is to the latest firmware.
Second link is to the latest version of SmartPSS.

@Mike K you need to kill Pcnvr in the system tray, bottom right of your screen near the time.

Launch Task Manager. Search for that program in the list. Right click on it. Click end task.

Thanks for the tip. However, I do not find the Smart PSS program in the list of programs operating in the background. Would it be listed with a different name?

I don't have that program in my tray; only on my desktop. ???

OMG, can't believe I missed that. Now I just must resist the urge to update until @nayr verifies it or slaps me for thinking I need to update in the first place!

I think most folks are running that version of the firmware. It fixed an issue with autofocus at night, IIRC.

Hi guys,

I just installed this camera and playing around with it. But just now I logged in via the web portal on Win10 with IE and I noticed my IVS menu is gone. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Is a IE plugin not working? Or something else? I've did some configging via SmartPSS and since then the menu does not show up.

Well, although I was not able to uninstall the PC-NVR program, I was able to "Shred" it with that function in the free version of the AVG anti-virus SW . After that the latest version of the Smart PSS software installed without any problems.

Relative to the firmware, I have yet to hard wire my new camera to my system.

Hi everyone, I am planning to order 3 of the IPC-HDW5231R-Z cameras and the Dahua NVR5208-4KS2. I'm wanting to just confirm I can setup IVS on these cameras and having done a search I didn't come across any posts suggesting there are any known issues...could you please confirm?

Also, someone asked on here before about an optimum settings list which could be used to get the cameras up and running with - does one exist? I know there will be an element to tweaking settings to the specific environment but I've seen stuff about shutter setting, fps, bit rate etc. so that's why I ask.

Thanks!

First post and new owner of security cameras. Ran Ethernet all through our new home with several current and future camera locations. So after a bunch of reading, decided to purchase 2 of these cameras (front door and rear door for closer ) and 2 of the Starlight 7-35mm bullet cameras (driveway and rear yard for wider viewing). So now my question - what is the preferred way to record the video - PC? NVR? Blue iris? Other? Thanks for suggestions as I get set up in our new home. Very appreciative sights like this exist - almost purchased the nightowl security pack from Costco - all domes.
