Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

My last idea I have:
There is another tool from dahua. Called Convert Tool.
I think it can only install via the toolbox. tools - Dahua Technology
The size of your 2.7 GB dav file takes longer to export. also depends on what you have for a computer or processor. Since you need patience accordingly.

Installed toolbox, then I click "install" for Convert Tool and it keeps failing.

I'm really starting to regret buying Dahua cameras and NVR. Their software is garbage and apparently there's no way to convert this DAV so a different computer can view it!

My DAV was deleted from the NVR since I only record 30 days of history. It's only on my computer hard drive now.
 
The Toolbox Convert Tool finally worked for me and I have a viewable .avi now! Thank you all.
 
Should I get more IPC-HDW5231R-Z or switch to the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE? I have one IPC-HDW5231R-Z camera that I bought earlier this year. It is my first security camera for my house and I have been using it to get familiar with IP cameras and Blue Iris. I like the Z and Blue Iris, so I am ready to order two more cameras from Andy. I am trying to decided if I should get more of the IPC-HDW5231R-Z or switch to the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. I know the ZE has a different housing. I have also have seen on this forum that there may have been some initial quality issues with the ZE. Are there any other differences between the Z and ZE? What are people's thoughts on the Z v. ZE? Thank you.

For easily getting video clips off, I'm not a fan of Dahua's NVR... I ended up switching to Blue Iris. Love love love my Dahua Starlight cameras though. Zero regrets there!!!

There was an incident in my neighborhood Saturday night. Police were able to use the Blue Iris app on my iPad (out in the street) to easily review recordings. They asked for a few minutes (from different cameras) to be emailed to them, which I was also able to do from my iPad (while out on the street with them). Blue Iris definitely had a learning curve for me, but once up and running, easily exporting video is definitely something it excels with (IMO).

What surprised the heck out of me was how useful the police found the recordings from my two 5231s that were zoomed out for wide "overview" shots of the front/side yards. These two cameras couldn't give facial recognition if you're more than 5 feet away from them, and the police were looking at areas about 100 feet from the camera. They said they got enough info to easily make some arrests. I do have addition cameras zoomed much tighter on key areas around the yard, but they didn't catch any of the shenanigans happening that night.

I believe most security camera systems uses DAV format so it not just Dahua system. SmartPSS if used correctly is a powerful tool in conjunction with Dahua NVR. Dahua products was not intended for home uses but commercial graded products where it is installed and trained by professional who does this everyday and know the system inside out.
 
Some shit dahua USA distributor make complaint to aliexpress, and kill the hot selling links of my shop. I will make some new list soon. Future better send me emails for making orders. I will also use Empire tech as the brand soon . Thanks buddy!

Hi Andy, that’s crap. I have a DHL notification from 'one village' is that you, my last orders have said empiretech but I’m not expecting much else by dhl?

Will you have stock of the z12 soon? Edit, just seen a few in stock duh, should have waited.

That is not be a problem. We have stock now. For the buying on aliexpress I will sort it out soon. And post the link here again. Just 3 models link offline now. Will put back
