First Time Cam/Security Install Planning

I have a spool of direct burial True cable cat5E, It terminates outdoors on one end, and back to the rack on the other end, I pulled home runs. Camera to switch. It runs along the ceiling of a couple long underground garages which occasionally have plumbing leaks onto them....So it's suited for the purpose. It terminates nice. Can't speak to longevity underground though....

Wow been a while. TL : DR - thanks for your previous help, and hopefully I can continue to receive help from you guys in the possibly near future.

First, thanks for the one or two replies that I might not have seen back then - I don't believe I got notification emails for them.

Second, a lot happened since last I was here - researching and learning with your help. We've been in a state of constant spending on house repairs, in prep for trying to sell the place. Water damage repairs and...foundation related stuff. $2k-5k turned into $30k. So pretty disastrous as far as financial.

Perhaps obviously, I'm back now due to more camera issues. I never got around to buying the rest of the gear needed to actually do anything with my empire tech camera I bought back then. And I've been using the damn Eufy cams, again mainly/solely for rodent surveillance (another ongoing nightmare). I had a eufy camera die, maybe...12 - 18 months ago, I don't recall. Got a free replacement. Now the homebase just died, and I had to order a replacement (got 50% discount, but still). Because I have to have something to keep an eye on the pests (even the occasional indoor pest, ie: shady contractor).

I would like to pick up where I left of here, with a proper camera setup (ip or wireless), though I'm pretty short on time and still have a lot of house repair work to do. But I wonder how easily (quickly, somewhat affordably) I could get something setup with what I have. And from my poor memory, I would need a pc (used), the software (blue iris?), some ethernet cable (if going wired ip) and connectors, the termination tools, and likely time and patience to fiddle and learn/troubleshoot any attempts I would make at setting up a system.

To be honest, and I know I said this previously, the most difficult thing about the ip camera setup/install is running cables through walls. I don't know if anyone else lives in an old, balloon framed house with stupid, random framing, but man is working on them a nightmare. Even a modern home with proper/modern framing/stud spacing that makes sense, is going to require drywall repairs etc. afterwards - right. Well, we paid a drywaller $500 to redo the drywall in a room several months back (I ripped it down to insulated and then paid him to put up new drywall etc.) and he did an absolutely disgusting job of it.

So, thanks again for the previous help. As if I'm able to find the time, I'll certainly need more help from the forum if/when I do. I didn't expect this post to be this long.
