I'm trying to setup a Hikvision NVR for remote access viewing.

However everytime I try to enable DDNS I get the error message:
"Communication to server failed"

Status is greyed out and reads:
DDNS is not enabled

(See attached screenshot for reference)

I only have 1 LAN cable from my router plugged into the NVR's LAN port.

Is this something to do with my "Device Domain" being wrong?

How do I enable DDNS??

Haha... Ok got it working now...

Really unlucky.

Had a random number like c123d45b4
- 9 characters long and wouldn't communicate
- guess someone already selected that random Device Domain!!!

So changed it to another random longer one.

Probability of that randomness...

Communication to server failed doesn't mean the domain was taken but usually is either a firmware problem (resolved by factory defaulting the NVR), a DNS problem (should be set to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4), or the Locality is set wrong or not set at all.

Glad to hear you got it working though.
