you can update if you are certain your cam is US region...So my takeaway here is find a reputable dealer but for no reason should I try to update the firmware.

I really want to DIY this whole project myself but it is very intimidating. Thankful for all of the knowledge everyone here has. I've locked myself in with the HikVision NVR and I think I want to use turret cameras. Just trying to find someone to buy from I feel comfortable with.you can update if you are certain your cam is US region...

The process does work better when the PC and camera are not directly wired together.But, unlike the Hikvision instructions, just have the PC and camera wired as normal to the router or switch, not directly connected.
They certainly did - removed support for SSL, now requires TLS.Did gmail change something that would cause this?
