Hi. I need to change some files in the firmware of this camera iDS-2VS435-F840-EY(T5) (firmware iDS-2VS435-F840-EY(T5) ). I used the hickpack utility, but the output is archives of an unknown format (maybe they are encrypted). Can you help figure out how to unpack, change and pack the firmware for this camera. Hello everyone, I've got a ds-kh9510 indoor intercom display from China, and am lost in info whether it's possible to "turn it" English or not. Any help is appreciated.

The interface is on Chineese.
I could not connect it to IVMS-4200.
Is it possible to downgrade or upgrade a firmware to improve it?

That firmware blocks any attempt to downgrade the version from that currently installed.
Even if a downgrade was possible, it would not change the fact that the camera is stamped internally as a Chinese device.

Hi Folks, as many here I didn't realise until after that cameras bought elsewhere would have firmware update issues. The serial number doesn't have the Chinese code but does have AAWRAX(XXXXXXX) at the end. The supplier has sent a Hiktool.exe file that is different from what I've seen here but requires the camera to be directly connected to a PC which is less than ideal for obvious reasons. Anything I need to know about that serial number before I start experimenting?

I ended up being into the same situation where I bought a 2387G2H-LISU from taobao.com. The unit S/N contains AAWRAY.

I tried both FW but it didn't help.
Finally I found out that it is the E8 platform and downloaded this FW: IPCE_E8_EN_STD_5.7.21_231023.zip
and it works and the camera is alive again.

Changing the firmware will not change the camera from being a Chinese model - unless the firmware has been specifically hacked to ignore the internal stamp applied during manufacture of the camera that specifies it as Chinese.
OК... then what is that tool in the first post in this thread for? My understanding was that if I have the firmware, I can edit it and "enable" the English language version.
And if this is not possible, can you give me a link/shop where I can purchase a Chinese DVR? I'm not looking for any specific function, just to be able to connect the cameras.
