lol the updating just never stops ...just stop. Practice this in your life if it ain't broke don't fix it. This will help in any future divorces you consider if you upgrade her it won't be better later just cost you a lot and the upgraded version won't work either eventually.

Have 3- DS-2CD2332-i Hik cameras that are bricked. Ran brick recovery tool and SADP brings camera up as DS-2CD-Min-System V4.0.8build 130906.
Ran TFTPD64 / PuTTY and mtd6ro file doesn't require and changes.
(Also tried password recovery before TFTPD64 / PuTTY )
Tried many different firmware versions and camera just gets bricked and end of process again
Is there a specific digicap.dav file I need? V5.2.5 ? Can't find it anywhere..?
Please any suggestions?

mtd6ro file doesn't require and changes.
If you want this double-checked, zip it up and attach here.
Also mtdblock1 - that could also be the cause.
Maybe try this method - works pretty well, deals with mtdblock1 data.
Unbrick and fully upgrade your R0 / DS-2CD2x32 IP cameras -
R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

DS-2CD-Min-System V4.0.8build 130906.
Clearly there is something not rigt when it boots into recovery mode.

Have 3- DS-2CD2332-i Hik cameras that are bricked.
How did they get bricked?

How did they get bricked?
Got them on eBay a few months ago and never got around to checking them until I needed to use them so I have no idea. (Purely my fault for not checking them when I received them ..)
I had 1 that bricked on me while trying to update it cause it was freezing up, Ran the simple recovery tool on that one and it works like a charm now..
Will try the link and let you know..
Thanks for the help..

Cameras are a DS-2CD2332-I.
Used Brickfixv2EN to start with, all went fine and used firmware digicap.dav V5.4.5 that I had placed in TFTP directory to autoload on the camera at step 3.
No communication to the camera after power cycle .
Files attached are mtd6r0_mod.zip that did not require and changes.
Language was at 01 / DevType was at 08 98 / checksum 16 was 0905 and values were already 05 09
Also attached logfile for your viewing.
Which Firmware should I be using for step 3? could this be my issue? I've tried from 5.2.0 thru 5.4.5 but don't have access to 5.2.5 ..
Thanks in advance for your help..!

Yes, agreed, as you've indicated the file is OK. And the fixuplog.txt is good too, a normal run.
The version 5.4.5 firmware works OK for use in Stage 3, and the updater was happy with it.
So after the final power cycle a no-show even in SADP? Curious.

So there is some other underlying cause preventing the cameras from working properly.
There are several possibilities, which connecting to the serial console would shed some light on.
It's probably one of these things where in spending more time on the problem isn't worth it on a cost/benefit basis, unless it's mainly for the satisfaction that comes from spending time problem solving.
Do you think the previous owner had a go at CN to EN conversion and didn't get there properly?
I've seen one Hikvision trap aimed at catching such attempts.

Attached are a couple of old firmware versions to try that should be able to be applied using the Hikvision tftp updater.

Cameras had Chinese stickers on back so I assume they were bricked when an update was attempted?
Getting them running just satisfaction.. but not looking good..
Thanks for the files, but already tried downgrader530 with no luck..
TFTP wouldn't start with 525 but got it on with Brickfix2 and SADP finally showed camera up first time but still in Min-System at V4.0.8 Build 130906
(Even tried running Security Code on Camera first in SADP and was accepted)
Hik has these locked up good...

I tried to upgrade a multi-language DS-2CD2632F-IS to 5.4.5 from 5.2.5 and bricked it. Then, I found this thread.

Perfect instructions and worked like a charm. My cam is now on 5.4.5 and running without issues.

Thank you for sharing.
