Hi everybody,
I was wondering if you could kindly share your experience with me.
My aim is to have a copy of full recordings or at least recording of triggered motion movies to a FTP or NAS or similar location as a back up in case NVR got stolen !

I have HikVision DS-7608NI-K2/8P with and 4 x 5MP Turret Cameras recording contentiously and NVR is connected to my LAN and WAN.

Thanks in advance
regards
Kas

Location
Scotland
as a back up in case NVR got stolen !
I suspect being stolen is an unlikely scenario - however -

I have 2 NVRs, in 2 different locations, one of them inside a cupboard in a utility room, you could call that hidden, but it's also convenient.
That's the main NVR and it does continuous recording.
The other NVR only does event detection recording, and is the one used for routine reviews.

I also have a couple of NAS boxes in separate locations, the primary one in an obscured location, the secondary one an overnight backup target.
I do have QNAP Surveillance Station and QNAP QVRPro on these - but only for a few of the cameras.

Thanks for your reply ,
I am thinking of adding a NAS device to get "Motion videos" recorded to,
What is the best way doing that ?
Can I get NVR to record Motion videos to NAS ?
Or
Is it better to get the cameras to record motions onto NAS directly ?

Is that possible and results are good ?
Personally I'd rather to get cameras recording motions to NAS just in case of NVR failure ,independently .

Any advise and ideas are appreciated.
Thanks
Kas
