Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

In your last screenshot, your subnet mask is too wide (255.0.0.0), change it to 255.255.255.0.

Then open 3 dos prompts, ping -t 10.1.1.1 in one, ping -t 10.1.1.66 in the second. Then type "arp -a" in the third, post results here (especially the ones starting with 10.x)

Here it is

Do you have any firewall running on your PC? Try to disable windows firewall for one minute and let the pingtest run. Maybe another hunch: untick the checkbox at TCPIPv6 in your ethernet card adapter settings.

I got windows firewall turn on. What puzzle me is why it doesn't block 10.1.1.1.

Will test your suggestions when I'm home. Thanks.

Turn off firewall off and uncheck IPv6, still unreachable to 10.1.1.66

I'll try to borrow a laptop to test it. Thanks for helping, @catcamstar

Do you have a link to where I can download firmware for Nvr5216-16p-4ks2e? I was thinking if a different laptop/desktop has the same issue, it may be the firmware.

Tried another laptop, same thing. Look like new firmware block it. Mine is on version 3.216 date 2018-05-30.

I just got a new NVR5216-16P-4KS2E from Andy that came with the 3.216 firmware installed. That appears to be the latest firmware. I only played with it for a half hour last night, but couldn’t figure out a way to access the one camera I had connected to the Poe ports. My first battle was finding a laptop with a lan port to connect to the Poe ports on the NVR. The first 2 I grabbed only had WiFi. I hope to play with it more tonight and will post results.

You can connect the NVR to your network then using the browser to get to NVR web GUI. From there you can access Camera GUI via IE icon.

Thanks, but I don’t think I need to connect it to the network yet. With a laptop plugged into one of the Poe ports I expect to be able to get to the web interface of the NVR. Right now everything is sitting on my kitchen table so its easy to do.

I just wanted to add my thanks into this thread, as I can now access my cameras web UIs remotely.

My configuration is as follows (not my IP addresses):

Code:

With a static route pointing at 2.0.0.0 through 1.0.0.3

The mini router I am using is a Vonets VAR11N that I've had kicking around for some time.

Typing any 2.0.0.x address from a browser on a 1.0.0.x address connects flawlessly.

If anyone is struggling with this, hopefully, this will help understand the setup for this to work.

Funny i came here to post the same exact thing. can get to 10.1.1.1 and log in, but cant hit the cameras.

tried https, http, port 37777, 80 81, nothing...

let me know if you ended up figuring it out. i upgraded to the latest firmware for the dahua nvr I'm on (july 2019 version)

The only way I can get to camera web GUI is to click the IE icon on the NVR GUI.

hrm... guess ill have to live with doing it that way. thanks!

i'm having that playback bug where there are blocks of time missing in the playback timeline (but it WAS recorded), i think it has to do with a Daylight Savings setting on the cameras. gotta get in there and disable it hopefully it fixes the issue.

Hi, I remember having the same issue with the DST set on cameras. Sorted by disabling the ntp (time auto update) on the cameras. After I did that, the cameras still got the correct time sent by the NVR through its proprietary protocol. Note I have tested this only on Dahua cameras.
Cheers
