New release of BI didn't brought a complete fix to my problem, but (looks like) that something is changed. If I use http(-s)://{my domain}:{my port}/ui2.htm login working as expected whenever session is active or not. If not used ui2.htm at the end, then "403" after successful login. ui2.htm should be passed explicitly, meaning you can't add it only to redirect address in reverse proxy.

Now about suggestions. Is it possible, in mobile view, hide clips area by default and list all cameras vertically? Also noted, that pressing camera image, not always select (maximize) camera or might be maximized another camera. Tested on Android/Chrome.
There is a bug where if you zoom in with a mobile device the click coordinates are wrong and that makes it hard to maximize a camera. I was not able to fix this the last time I investigated, but perhaps it is worth looking at again.. I won't be putting much effort into mobile usability in UI2 because that is the focus of the official mobile apps and I think it is not worth my effort to make UI2 behave differently on small screens.

Am I overlooking a setting that makes it so that when ui2 loads the view is in "1x zoom" instead of "Fit"?

Yeah. I don't think I zoomed at that point of time. About original app - it's probably nice (10€+ it's quite expensive), but I have couple of clients, that going to use it only for viewing. And I didn't found anything like BI lite viewer for Android just for iOS. I look into mobile app thread and looks like official app is the only one option on iOS.
About choosing cameras in mobile view - drop-down with cameras list would be better then click on/off.
There is no such setting. The view is zoomed to "Fit" at first. Zoom can be changed via mouse wheel or hotkey, but it will always revert to "Fit" whenever the active camera(s) change.
In that case the jpegpull.htm or jpegpull2.htm pages may be more to your liking, as they have camera lists in them.
That is strange. jpegpull is like two-decade-old technology so it should work in anything.

Yeah I agree it does. Too bad the browser of my Samsung Smart TV doesn't work great.

Is there any way to adjust the aspect of the camera window? I have my system running at 1080p so it's 16:9, it looks like UI2 wants to smoosh all the cameras in a 4:3 format. That results in all the cameras being on top of each other, skewed, etc..
The UI is excellent and working great otherwise!

Ah. The cameras aren't overlapping and they aren't skewed, but the group image resolution isn't a good fit for your browser.
You can adjust the group image resolution here in Blue Iris:
Blue Iris tries to fit your cameras as well as possible into the frame size you specify, while preserving aspect ratios and keeping the same order of cameras.
For best results you want the numbers in the resolution to be multiples of 16. So for example based on your UI2 screenshot, this might be a good fit: 1712 x 944. You don't want the frame size to be too big because the bigger it is, the lower your frame rate will be in the web interface.
You can adjust the width and height individually to tweak how the cameras are laid out, and to affect how much black space there may be around and between cameras.
Here is a list of multiples of 16 to help you out in dialing in the ideal frame size for your All cameras group:

Thank you, It's still very different from the BI display, but I will play with it and tweak it. I have a few cameras that don't match the rest. Most are 1080p cameras, but I have 2 of them rotated sideways and 1 of my cameras is a 640x480. So they don't tile all that great. I wish BI would allow free movement of the cameras in the group.

Yes, there is no denying it would be quite useful to have free movement of the cameras. But it would be a relatively complicated system all of its own, to configure it.
I think your biggest problem here is that you've set up one camera to be larger than the others, but Blue Iris doesn't pay any attention to this when setting up a group view for a mobile app or web interface. As long as you use a "1:1" layout, it is usually possible to reproduce the same layout by choosing a similar frame size to what you have in your local GUI.

Yeah, it gets easier when you have more cameras and are willing to rearrange them somewhat to ensure the layout is clean. Corridor/rotated cameras have a pretty significant effect on the layout too since they take up a very odd amount of space.
Hiya BP2008, I've noticed that ui2.htm continues to stream from the BI server when the browser tab is no longer in focus
(say, you go to another tab in the same browser window, or even if you minimize the browser window entirely).
This has on occasion caused me to blow out my data usage limit, having parked ui2.htm in the background somewhere
and forgetting it's still pulling data. (I use mostly Firefox on Ubuntu or sometimes WinDoze...)
Would it be possible to have an option for it STOP updating when no longer in focus? I understand the use case for continuing
to update when not in the foreground (so one can work on something else and have UI2 up to monitor things) but I also think
one should be able to have some assurance it won't cause data transfers when not being watched...
