IPC-HDW5442T-ZE New cam from Dahua :)

I skimmed the PDF specsheet and noticed it said it has a "plastic decoration ring," which I'll be curious to hear about.
 
Camera is ready to go, will use IPC-T5442T-ZE as OEM model, and online now on our aliexpress shop, Today send the trial ORDERS out.

@EMPIRETECANDY The decoration ring is the leftmost part right? (Ring -> Cone -> Camera)
IS it plastic? Hard to tell in the picture.

What concerns me most on this one is "Illumination warm light, solves the problem of extreme dark night". This says rings 2 alarm bells:

1. The camera might not have a good night vision sensor and thus needs light assistance

2. "Warm Light" - Warm LED's / Light are not generally good for picture quality as daylight is cool except at dawn / dusk. Daylight rated to cool lighing temps tend to produce the cleanest picture which questions the use of warm led's? Have to wonder if this is becasue of the ridiculous claims that blue light damages eyes that's got everybody buying traditional warm white bulbs again. Interestingly enough, I use daylight bulbs in my house as I like white light and the local Hospital Eye Specialists recommend the use of daylight bulbs to their eye patients. one of whom lives next door to me! So much for damaging light.

Dang, I missed them. Been waiting for this one to come out. Was going to get 1 to test a new setup to figure out which focal lengths I need (or end up buying all motorized ones) for the rest of the turrets I want to buy.
 
Is there a disadvantage besides price for going with the ZE instead of the AS with the 3 different fixed lens options? I like the flexibility of the ZE, but was curious if a proper fixed lens version is better if my camera placement is ideal for an available fixed lens focal length that is offered. I'm definitely buying 1 ZE just to see which focal length works best in each location for my application, but tempted to buy all ZE's.
 
According to the specs the AS are slightly better but until it’s reviewed we won’t know if you’ll be able to see or notice the difference.

Adjustable focus is a potential perk. I had a fixed-lens 5442 that I was debating whether to open up the camera and try modifying the focus, because I was getting less-than-ideal images on subjects in the mid-range distances.

fixed lens would always bring in more light comparing to adjustable focus. you cannot escape the physics.
that's also why professional still photographers would only use fix lens for their camera. adjustable focus = more optic = less light.
still, adjustable focus is more convenient, flexible and better for finding the exact field of view in a given mounting location.

If I understand correct, the first round was relatively small and next week Andy would have STOCK for everyone.
soon enough (could even be next week), would be a review ready for the new HDW5442T-ZE
