I'm using the same Z4E he is. I wished I had the Z12 at my distance but at 40 feet the Z4E should be perfect for him.

Yeah, I those pictures look like a low resolution to me as @bigredfish suggests. Something looks off. It may be time to reset the camera and start from scratch with new settings.

I think he has a Z4 - 32mm less than 1/2 the zoom as ours...

What resolution are you running? That looks like a substream or maybe 2048, which isnt enough for a 4MP camera . Change it to 8192
are you talking about this setting? let me know if i should set it higher..

Thank you so much for the configuration. I changed it to 8196 and the video is coming in much nicer.. please take a look at the recently shot. I also moved my camera out all the way to the house corner and shooting as far right as possible.

Turn your resolution back to what it was, 1920x1080 is 2MP, you should run 4MP - 2688x1520

Its still not as clear as it should be to my eye. Wait till night to declare victory.

Bitrate looks low based on the pictures and the pictures look elongated? Is it native or did you stretch it?

I think there is a problem with the encoding of Hikvision NVR and Dahua camera.
Check that all the encoding both on IPC gui and NVR gui are in the highest level.
The 5442 camera is really good camera. And all the photos you are posting looks like sub-stream!
Stop changing camera settings and start to change the ENCODE settings.

Look at the differences. Its not just the plate. Its the whole scene resolution bad!

Use the "Schedule" profile on the camera to force it to change to B&W 30-45 minutes BEFORE sundown and back to color 30 minutes AFTER sunrise

Yep - now you will need to have someone go out there and stop a car in the field of view because there is nothing for it to focus on right now. So your next image will be a blur.
