New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So today I was also able to get my chime working, my steps were similar but slightly different, so posting here for completeness...

...
Step 14: Saved Config File.
Have you ever tried restoring from the config file after a reset to see if the chime setting is recovered?

mine is still flashing blue

You say yours is still flashing? So, are you basically using the &!%@ thing as a chime? That's it? Wow.

Something's up ... I don't see a lot of people chiming in with this issue of randomly losing firmware settings and having to recover... I wonder if it's something we did.

One thing I have never tried is to hold the reset button while applying power -- read somewhere on here that that seems to do another level of resetting. Maybe that would help?

That is usually what is needed to be done when someone brick's their DB.

Given that my DB keeps losing its config every few months (at times on its own while it's running (I actually have it on a UPS) and at times when I have a long power failure and the UPS dies), is it something I should try? Or, is it pointless, just an issue with the whole DB platform

Hi all,

Quick question - wonder if I am missing anything:
Just got ezviz db1Eu/uk spec and upgraded to latest firmware from ezviz - added to blue iris and I think its showing as onvif/rtsp with out issue, passes triggers too?

So wonder if there is any benefit flashing hikvision branded firmware over ezviz? Since seems all works fine.

Thank you

It is up to you, not sure why your DB loses it's config, it is worth a try, just be sure you have your login info for the App you are using, you will need to rescan the QR code too, that is if you remove the DB from the App.

We are not aware of an EZVIZ firmware that supports ONVIF. I would check it with:

The reason EZVIZ DB1 owners use LaView or Hikvision's firmware is usually for the ONVIF support.

Please let us know what you find, also what firmware build are you using?

Thanks

So I just checked both the US and EU EZVIZ sites for EZVIZ DB1 and the latest firmwares are still from last year 2020.

I went ahead and checked Nelly's, LaView and RCA too, no new firmwares...Doubt there will be any more from Nelly's and LaView since they discontinued the DB.

Nelly's removed the DB from their site which had the latest 2020 firmware, the usdownload.ezvizlife.com site has 2019 firmware.

Attached is the last firmware I got from Nelly's site before they discontinued the DB, but after checking it with Hikvision's build 200321 it is the same file so apparently Nelly's posted Hikvision's latest firmware on their site before they removed the DB.

Hi
Could not get onvifdm to work even on hikvision cctv camera - so prob doing something wrong but blue iris seems to work fine. Tho as some generic device.

Firmware version v5.2.4 build 200220 and the box that it came have UK support numbers on it to - so looks for UK market.

I may just flash hikvision version just to see if any difference.

Thanks

Hi all, anyone watching this thread experienced this and can help me?

I got a Hikvision DS-HD1 Doorcam and I have applied the latest Firmware: DS-HD1_5.2.4 200321

My main problem:
When setting up the Doorcam, I cannot configure the Doorcam settings from the Hik-Connect app, the error message I receive is:
"Device version not supported. Please upgrade the device".

The camera is added with IP/Domain and I can view the feed/ONVIF etc and I can also use the Batch Configuration Tool to modify video/network settings etc.
My Problem: As you know certain settings can only be modified thru the app (such as "Receive call from doorbell"):

The latest Doorcam firmware seems to have added the problem. I have tried Hik-Connect from 2 different Samsung phones as well as an virtual machine with Android and an iPhone with the same problem (so my conclusion is that the problem lies in the firmware).

Another problem is when during setup the Wizard never finishes as per the public instruction video below.
After the voice telling me the configuration is finished successfully I get "Wrong Wi-FI password. Please try again"or "Complicated environment for the Wifi Network..." instead of the continued configuration of the Doorcam settings such as selecting the Chime hardware or not / "Receive call from doorbell" on/off).

If I then cancel I can access the with the SADP tool or Batch Configuration Wizard to modify settings.

The official video:

Have anyone downgraded the firmware (if possible)?
(I probably can change to EZWIZ firmware since it seems this firmware is more properly maintained?)

Thanks, Sincerely Joakim

Have you read through our Doorbell 101?

So a few questions, have you ever got the Doorbell setup? If so where did you get the App? How old is it? Reason I ask is Hikvision took there App off Google Play App Store sometime last year, maybe you need to update to latest App:

Have you tried the other Apps we list in the 101?

You can downgrade or change your firmware, this can be done through the Batch Config. Tool though I do not have a copy of the previous Hikvision firmware build 191017.

Hi! Really appreciate your response and help.
Yes, the Doorbell setup works although not 100% finished as described and as shown in the product video link.
After the setup, I am able to reach the Doorcam thru IP and the Hikvision tools and can configure Wifi / IP and other settings.

I downloaded the latest app (v4.13.0.0205) from their official site and have also tried both three different Android devices and Iphone as well as the IVMS-4X00 software.
I have read the 101 and havent tried the other apps yet :-) (Im keen on keeping ONVIF support and would like to have the doorbell button working with any software but preferably Hik-Connect since I have other Hikvision cameras).
Its a shame the BCT cant do all of the configuration .-)

Thank you for your help,

Sincerely Joakim

So I have a LaView DB but use EZVIZ App. So from the App you having problems finishing the WiFi connection? Do you have any special Chars in your SSID or password? I read that can present issues on some Devices/Apps.

Hey! Have tried to shorten the PWD as well as only using 2.4 since I had the same idea as you its not the first time a wifi device have problems with "newer" wifi standards. Connectivity to the Wifi works though, its just the install process is not 100% finished (with the last importat configuration steps missing)

One thing that is strange after the first setup is that the Wifi chooses to use WPA1 (and not WPA2) at least in the BCT settings for the Doorcam. According to my Wifi settings only WPA2 is allowed.

Lets see what Hikvision responds...

I can confirm that giving it power while holding the reset button works - I have an RCA-branded version, was trying to flash the HIKVISION firmware and bricked it (solid red ring with no response). I depowered it for a couple days (probably a lot less time was needed, but I was busy), and then re-powered it while holding the button. It seemed to reset everything, including the wifi ssid which reset to softap_<SN>, so I connected to it with a PC and used Batch Config to rename the wifi + password to the version used by HIKVISION (EZVIZ_<SN> + EZVIZ_<code>) and now it works!

I know this has been mentioned before but I couldn't find a solution via search.

"Zooming" problem with BlueIris
Whenever my EZVIZ DB1 has a trigger event in itself, BlueIris zooms in the image to like the top quarter of the image. Resetting the camera will resolve it, but it will just happen again when the PIR sets off a trigger.

Is there a workable solution?

I installed the Nelly’s flavor db cam a year ago and have been using the Guarding Vision app. I finally got around to picking up an IPC and I’m running into an issue that I figured some of you might know a solution to since we all pretty much have the same db cam. I just bought a IPC-T5442T-ZE from Andy and I’m struggling to figure out how to be able to add it to the Guarding Vision app. Since this is a Dahua camera and not Hikvision I understand there are limitations. After research on the forum and Google I saw that if you use a Hikvision NVR and add third-party IP cam (ONVIF) you should be able to add it to GV app but this is where I’m running into issue. I set the IPC on same subnet as NVR but I just can’t seem to get GV app to see it. Do any of you have any experience doing this or know of an alternate way of being able to add a third-party IPC to the GV app?

Just received my Hikvision DS-HD1 as an upgrade to my kb6003. But when I try to connect it via hik-connect the device tells me it is connected but the app says it's not. Done it multiple times.

  1. Reset DB
  2. Open Hik-Connect and scan QR code
  3. Enter wifi and let it switch to network of DB to let is join my 5ghz wifi
  4. I hear the doorbell saying it is connected to the wifi and password granted
  5. The 90 seconds countdown keep counting till it reaches zero, but it should go further
  6. Hik connect says it failed, but I can see the camera on my network with SADP and I can even view live feed with Batch Configuration
But when I try to access it by the browser I get the following:

Access Error: 404 -- Not Found
Can't locate document: /doc/page/login.asp

Allready updated to latest firmware, but same result. Help me please! Is it defect?

Not sure this will help but I was not able to get my Doorbell completed through the App during setup until I connected 2.4GHz...you can always go back to 5.0 once completed...
