New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Question for the group: I'm using Synology Surveillance Station (Model: DS918+ with latest firmware & device pack), with the LaView ONE Halo model (latest firmware with ONVIF: V5.2.4 build 190716).

The LaView doorbell works perfect with the Android app (live view, alerts, mechanical chime, call log, etc.) However, I'm unable to get a live ONVIF stream via Synology Surveillance Station. I've repeatedly ran through the auto ONVIF discovery and setup (it's detected fine), tried various resolutions and video settings (mobile LaView app is set to 'Ultra HD'), however the best I can get is a single "preview" image -- nothing streaming -- just a gray window -- even though it appears to show a bitrate in the top right via the 'IP Camera' setup app.

Thoughts? Especially those using Synology Surveillance Station?

Thanks @camCanuck! That worked!

Follow up questions:
- Is there a way to disable HDR mode in the LaView app or otherwise? The image colors look horrible during the day (regardless via app or Surveillance Station)
- When set to the highest resolution (2048x1536, 30FPS), the image in Surveillance Station looks extremely low resolution and grainy. Is there any way to improve it? (App is set to 'Ultra HD')
- Is audio suppose to auto stream via ONVIF? (There doesn't appear to be any)

Not sure what you mean by HDR mode, I haven't seen that.
The SS resolution has nothing to do with the app setting. You set the resolution in the SS Stream Profiles and then choose the appropriate profile when viewing in SS or DSCam.

I think he means WDR, you can turn On/Off WDR in iVMS-4200 under Device Management/Remote Configuration

Finally i can use an relay with EZVIZ DB1.
I try to add DB1 to Home Assistant, i add a Wemos D1 mini to know when the doorbell chime with relay state, Now i try to add still image from it to HA, if someone press the doorbell i will send message with image to telegram. But i could not find the still image address from the doorbell, some Hik-vision cam have image like this:
http://admin:secret@192.168.1.xx/jpg/image.jpg
http://admin:secret@192.168.1.xx/ISAPI/Streaming/Channels/101/picture
http://admin:secret@192.168.1.xx:554/Streaming/Channels/101/picture
But not work for DB1, so anyone know the image address of it please tell me?

Were you ever able to find a still image URL?

Do any of you know if there's a way to turn off encryption on the doorbell's RTSP stream? I'm looking in the Hikvision BatchConfig tool, and I don't see a way to open up the RTSP stream.

I haven't seen this in batch config, but I have seen a setting to turn encryption in/off in the laview mobile app. May or may not be available in the other branded apps

I'm using a script to capture an image from the RTSP stream. I'm using Domoticz on a Linux server. So when the Ezviz DB1 button is pressed my zwave sirene is triggered and the script captures an image and send it to Pushover.

BTW i hope that the Ezviz firmware will also contain the ONVIF option soon. Does anybody know if that option will be available on the Ezviz DB1?

I was able (with some tweaks) to add my Ezviz DB1 to Synology Surveillance Station without ONVIF. I'm running a Virtual Synology DS918+ on my ESXi environment. It works great. But i hope ONVIF will ever be available. So adding it to SS will be much more simple.

Just load the LaView firmware on it to get ONVIF.

I would not hold your breath, if there is no mention of future ONVIF support on EZVIZ site, like Nelly's and LaView did, it may not come for you. RCA owners here did not wait, they loaded LaView's firmware.

LaView's (ONVIF Compliant) Firmware Build 190716

I believe people have been loading the firmware thru iVMS-4200 Software, you could search this thread to verify this...

UPDATE:
OH, I just noticed you are from the Netherlands, I would Definitely read back on this thread before upgrading your firmware, I remember a few guys having problems setting up their Phone App (registering), one being from your country, I think it was not until they connected to a U.S. Server did it fix their issue. My point is, not sure the LaView firmware will work for you. You may need to check first if you can buy the LaView in your country, even contacting LaView, maybe thru chat. Hate to see you brick your Doorbell...

UPDATE AGAIN, Sorry:
So my memory is not that good, one guy was from Sweden and the other from Norway. But I would still check with LaView if it works in your country.

Allright guys. I just flashed this firmware file on my Ezviz DB1 using the Hik Batch config tool.

LaView Halo One
http://usdownload.ezvizlife.com/device/LV-PDB1630-U/2.0/LV-PDB1630-U.dav

The logo changed from Ezviz to RCA i don't kow if thats correct? But everything worked fine. Then i added the camera again to Surveillance Station by choosing ONVIF. And it worked :) .

But the strange thing is that the Doorbell still shows up with the Ezviv firmware in the Hik Batch config tool.

After that i flashed the Ezviz firmware back to my DB1. So the logo changed back from RCA to Ezviz. And surprisingly ONVIF still works in Surveillance Station.

UPDATE!!: After disabling and enabling the camera in Surveillance Station ONVIF didn't work anymore with the Ezviz Firmware. So i reflashed it with the Laview firmware. No ONVIF is working again.

I installed the Ezviz App on my phone. And it still says the DB1 is running FW V.5.2.4 build 190716.
Very strange. But ONVIF works :headbang:

Everything you mentioned is normal.

The model number doesn't change when you change firmware.

SS would keep working as ONVIF is just a way for SS to find out the camera capabilities, which were saved. Once you Disable/Enable it could no longer probe the non-ONVIF camera so it failed.

Cool. I ended up writing some C++ code with the Hikvision API to grab a frame and to edit the camera parameters. For example, I turn on/off and change the WDR value in the morning and the evening via my code and MQTT through Home Assistant. I can also get motion events through the API without using ONVIF. It's fairly well documented, and I just modified a few of the example code bits they included with the SDK (SDK - Download - Hikvision). Working well so far!

Good to know it is normal behaviour. But is it normal that it shows the old Ezviz firmware version and not the new LaView version?

Any tricks on how to make 2 way audio work with this doorbell in BI? I've searched so many threads, watched so many youtube videos, but nothing seems to work.

I'm using the EZVIZ firmware, with ONVIF.

Just switched over to the ndb313W from the Ring Doorbell and ONVIF works fine with Firmware V5.2.4 Build 190412.

Using batch configuration I have been trying to configure the camera for the secondary stream and noticed that there is no option.

Also been trying to figure out how to get a jpg image from the camera.

Will posted firmware YS_NDB313-W_EN_NEU_5.2.4_190625.zip work better for me. Do I also update the Uboot file or just the DAV file?
Or should I try another firmware?

I have the door bell wired to a concocation using a manual chime / Elk 930 (doorbell) / Elk 960 (debounce) boards and updated a 10VAC transformer to a 24VAC transformer. The doorbell button to the chime works fine and the combo 930/960 works with the press of the doorbell button. I am seeing though loop values change without pressing the button every few minutes. Would it be beneficial to go to a 16 VAC transformer instead of using the 24 VAC transformer?
This is messing with some programming based on the loop values on my Leviton / HAI Omni Pro 2 panel.
