New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Mine had to be defective, way to many issues with it. Defective units happen all the time. It's too bad as I really liked the form factor and local storage.

well if you think its "defective" why not just try another one?

Lol, because my wife is getting upset with me as we have a ring pro and she doesn't understand these things and I got tired of messing around with the RCA.

The ring pro works fine and rings the digital chime no problem it just has a 2 second delay.

They also anounced some new doorbells at CES so I will just wait and see what happens with the price.

If you get one Flynreellow, be sure to let us know how your experience with it was.
Hopefully you won't have the issues I did. I won't give you a hard time if you get a bad one :)

i have a normal wired mechanical bell, i don't mess with those digital ones.. don't think ill have a problem....

Have a Ring Pro, as well as the Uniden DB1 or whatever the model was.
Liked the Ring Pro due to its ease of use, but did not like it for the fact that I had to reach out to the cloud, the delay, and the lack of being able to record 24/7 locally to an NAS
Liked the Uniden due to the fact that you can record locally to an NAS, but did not like it for anything else really. Picture was decent (when the camera did not show that it was OFFLINE), notifications are a bit spotty due to the OFFLINE issue as well as the area of trigger.

How is this camera? Does it have the ability to record locally to an NAS? How is the picture quality compared to the Uniden/LTS/Hikvision DB1? Any issues with setting up the trigger area of motion?

Hello guys, I am a new member of the forum. I have already introduced myself in the right topic.

A view days ago i bought myself the Ezviz DB1 doorbell cam. Before i'm going to install the doorbell on its permanent location i'm testing all the features.

I'm going to use the DB1 without a physical chime but i have connected it to a 433mhz doorbell transmitter. I've connected the 433mhz transmitter to a 24v relay. This works great. So when the doorbell button is pressed the relay switches and the transmitter sends a signal to my domotica system and i can do whatever i want with it. Just ask me if you want more information.

I also have a question about the Ezviz App. I can view all the doorbell presses in the app with their snapshots but i can't delete them. I'm sure they are not saved on the sd card or my phone. Because if i format the sd card i can still see the call history with its snapshots and if i install the Ezviz app on another phone with the same account ofcourse then the call history is still available. So it looks like the call snapshots are saved into my account. I do not use the cloudstorage. I think the RCA software is similar to the ezviz software. Do you guys know where the call history and its snapshots are stored and how i can delete them? I'm using the Ezviz App on a Android phone.

Hello all-
LONG time lurker, 1st-time poster :)
I recently gave up on my Ring.com. Not worth the effort. I purchased (due to the feedback on this forum) and so far have been quite happy with the RCA HSDB2! Good quality and seems to function well (at least it stays connected!).
The 'last' step in making this ideal is to get this new doorbell to be part of my BI system. Would someone who has theirs connected to BI please post a picture of their "Network IP Cam Config" from BI? I am thinking that is my stumbling block. I did try Chad's suggestion from the 1st page but didn't get far ('no signal').
Many MANY thx!

That’s awesome! You will likely never get Bi to send audio to the camera speaker. Bi needs to see if as an audio device. When I speak to BI from my app I hear it on the computer that BI runs on because that is the only audio device it knows of.

I've been scanning various sources to get the HIK doorbell to work with a digital chime - but came across a tutorial for getting 2 way audio enabled. I can't be certain if this works on this model - but worth a try.

Good luck - and great info from everyone with this device :)

I was very late to this party, but I have never been happier unplugging my Ring.com Pro and replacing it with this. It has worked GREAT. Love that it can be apart of my BlueIris set-up too.
Great to hear. Those ring doorbells are pretty shitty.

Glad this is working out for you .

Anyone upgraded to latest firmware v5.2.4 build 190124? It's nice to see that there has been a couple firmware releases recently on the HSDB2 model so looks like they're listening to user feedback and fixing things....

1. Improves image color
2. Bug fixes and improvements
3. Enhances device stability

I upgraded and the color looks much much better!

That is nice to hear. I'll give it a couple weeks before upgrading mine if others have good feedback on 190124.
