New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

After losing power for almost 2 days (45 hours) due to a storm that had 100 Mile an hour gust (took 3 sections of our fence down and blew over a 100 pound grill), my DB has a solid white light and looks like it needs to be resetup. Guess it's battery only last so long. Since I will be removing it to install on our new house I will probably leave it alone for now...

Our neighborhood looks like a hurricane came through, many downed fences and split trees with limbs everywhere...

Here are a few pics:

Good thing, our roof held up...

Sorry y'all went through that, hope everyone's OK, at least.
Yes, it's a PITA but fences can be put back up, batteries can be replaced....right?

Speaking of the Reolink doorbell, this is the 4th day in a row of temps in the low to mid 90's here, the afternoon sun hitting the one at my side door and raising its temp to 151°F....hasn't missed a beat yet.

I'll be joining this thread in the next few days. Told EZ-Viz/Hikvision they lost another doorbell customer today with their latest firmware "update".

EDIT: EZViz Studio in Advanced mode, the Network tab, hitting Apply will re-enable RTSP port 544. Too late. They fucked it up, I ain't doing this shit again.

I think you will like this DB...Few things I miss, the 180 degrees vertical view and WDR/BLC but I have been able to adjust and am very pleased with this DB.

Well, the first lesson learned is the PoE model does not also support WiFi connections, even though it provides two connections for 19VAC. :banghead:

For the uninitiated, that means, VF done farked up and ordered the wrong item for his needs. Correct wifi version has been ordered.

This may help you on setup...

Okay, the wifi version arrived, and is connected and working with the iPhone app. Picture quality is excellent, and wifi stability is solid. Where I'm having a problem is getting Blue Iris to successfully stream video from the camera. :( No luck with VLC, either. Before I keep :banghead: for too long, I'll ask for any further suggestions, and say THANK YOU ALL in advance.

VLC console log returns:
Code:
[tcp @ 000002257c0ba180] Connection to tcp:/192.168.1.127:1935 failed: Error number -138 occurred
[rtmp @ 000002257bc54680] Cannot open connection tcp:/192.168.1.127:1935
[000002257c18b180] avcodec stream error: Failed to open rtmp:/192.168.1.127/bcs/channel0_main.bcs?channel=0&stream=0&user=username&password=SuperCereal: Unknown error

Current firmware details:
Code:
Build Number build 23041200
Hardware Version DB_566128M5MP_W
Config Version 3.0.0.0
Firmware Version v3.0.0.2017_23041200

I also read earlier in the thread where Reolink posted fixes for RTSP streaming and them removed one or two versions of firmware from their downloads site. :( If I attempt to update this doorbell, it says "no updates available" (or similar). :( THANK YOU for posting those "missing" two versions. I'm loading one of them via the HTTP: web UI right now. Sure is taking a LOOOOONG time to update, though.

I knew if I said it was taking too long to update, it would finally complete. Took a while longer for the web UI to become available, but after it did, I set things to my preferences, saved them, and went back to Blue Iris. Changed it from Reolink RTMP to Generic ONVIF and RTSP and port 544. It had to attempt connecting at least four or five times before it finally began streaming crystal-clear video. WOOHOO!!

Working perfectly right now.

FWIW, I set mine up with RTMP streaming to Blue Iris......hasn't missed a beat since 6/11, 3 weeks ago.

I was updating my post with news of RTSP SUCCESS while you reposted your settings link. ;)

Also FYI, RTMP streaming was NOT working on this Reolink Wifi doorbell, using the factory v3.0.0.2017_2304120 firmware. Don't know why, don't care. Loaded v3.0.0.2033_23041300, configured, and all is good.

The A-#1-BEST thing about switching to this Reolink WiFi Doorbell camera? Since connecting last night just before 11 pm, it has not dropped the wifi connection AT ALL.:clap::clap: As I'm certain most everyone is aware, the previous doorbell had a serious issue maintaining a wifi connection; 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz, didn't matter. Hundreds of disconnects each week. What this means to me as the end user is, I'm getting the videos in Blue Iris I was previously missing more often than not.

Told ya! :p

Hell has frozen over when we praise reolink. But a good product is a good product. So simple and so cheap and it works....the others can take notes. Particularly for POE.
Reolink still needs to release standalone chimes so they can be added to the one that is provided...but other than that, it looks like they are on target with this doorbell.

Yup, I've thoroughly enjoyed bashing Reolink cameras ever since I bought that first one and found out. This doorbell? Just works. And works well. Amazing.

I was thinking the same the other day!

That other doorbell? It got thrown in the trash this morning. Hilariously, their support team responded this afternoon. Their answer? (Forget the fact I didn't ask a question, I told them they lost me as a customer due the to RTSP port closure.) They actually suggested enabling uPNP and NAT. Hrmmm, sure, let's just unlock and open the entire house before we got to bed tonight. Uhhhh, NO.
