Go back to the NVR screenshot and see which IP address is missing.

It is probably an Internet Explorer based firmware, so try Explorer

Yeah the plugin will only work with Explorer. Not Edge or Chrome with an IE tab.

You need to use actual Explorer.

Explorer is still there and there are ways to get Explorer again.

The simple way is to change the BHO folder to another name like oldBHO and BAM Explorer is back...and this thread also shows other ways...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\110.0.1512.48\

Then change BHO to oldBHO or something else and Explorer will open

Looks Like Internet Explorer Died Today

Or this way:

Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

In Edge look for the 3 dots at the top right.
hit the 3 dots
look down to where it says open in Explorer.
done

Now add the camera to BI.

For testing purposes, if the BI computer is on a different IP subnet than the camera, go into the camera and find where to assign the IP address and put it on the same IP address subnet as your computer, but make it a higher number like x.250 and then add it to BI

So to use the cameras I would connect them to a POE switch rather than the NVR ? or could I buy the BI NVR?

There is no BI NVR - you need a PC and put BI on it.

And yes you would now get a POE switch since you can't feed the cameras thru the NVR.

The go to is i5-8500 that you can buy off ebay as that is the oldest that can accept Win11. Anything newer is overkill for BI.

But if you have an older one laying around or maybe a city auction and you can pick up a 4th gen for $25, they work as well.

I have a Unifi 24 PoE - will this cut it? So plug in all cameras into the PoE and connect to a computer?

You will have to do the same procedure as you did the first camera to get the IP address on your subnet, but without knowing model number, that POE switch will probably work.

You mean disconnect and reconnect to get the IP off each camera? then it should work?
