The brickfixV2 method is for R0 cameras.
The one you quoted is probably a G0 model.

It looks like the camera is boot looping.
Check if it becomes visible to SADP when the tftp updater is stopped.

Thanks Alistair. Sadly, no luck with visibility using SADP after tftp is stopped.

I want to go back to basics with this issue and ensure i'm using the correct firmware. I can see the choices on the EU portal site, but Im not sure about the G0..Gx, R0..Rx, H0..Hx etc etc designations. How does one find out which group the camera belongs to? You suggested G0, but I like to understand why.

Secondly, I am puzzled by the multiple lines in my TFTP log (ie "Start file transmitting..." msg x6 and the "Connection success.." msg x 6), when all the doco ive seen shows these lines appearing ONCE. Any idea what might be causing this?

Regards,
Craig

You suggested G0, but I like to understand why.
A slight guess, based on the number 5 at the end of the model number, where the first ones like that I encountered (DS-2CD3335-I, DS-2CD2335-I) were G0 models.
But with some uncertainty due to the 5 as the second last digit, which suggests a 5MP sensor, and the FWD suffix which is a more recent designation.

But looking more closely, the DS-2CD2355FWD is more likely to be a G1 series, with firmware here :

That is a bit odd, almost like the connection/power is fluctuating quickly.
Both PC and camera wired, camera powered by 12V? That's the best combination.

Thanks for the link and explanation.

The camera box says 6MP. I've attached a photo of the label.

Regarding power & connection, I was using POE from an HP switch so changed to normal Ethernet and a 12v power supply and tried again. Sadly, I get the same result.

Alas the camera may be gone for good, unless you think otherwise.

As background, I bought it to test out for around the perimeter of my home (about 6 needed) . I've subsequently read on this forum that the 4MP cameras with larger sensor sizes may be a better option of the low light/night vision performance, though I'm reluctant to go the ebay/hikvision route now.

Hello Alastair,

I've just upgraded one of my two cams from 5.2.5 to 5.4.5 and after upgrade completed, my 2CD2132F-IS doesn't reply, I cannot see it nor in IVMS-4200 neither in Batch Configuration App. Do you think that it can be unbrick with your method? If yes, I would give it a try.

OMG THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!

I had a bricked device but followed this step by step SOOOOOO closely and finally got my camera back up and running again.

Really appreciate how much effort and time you put into writing this up, saved me so much headache and money, I was this close to throwing the camera away but really glad I came across your post.

Confirmed working for: DS-2CD2432F-IW

Was this a Chinese camera, or an updateable camera - did it have CCCH in the serial number?
What firmware was used?
If Chinese - you will need to use the brickfixV2 method.

If it was an updateable camera -
It's not reliable to update directly from 5.2.5 to 5.4.5.
If this model has a reset button then try resetting to defaults first.
If not - try re-applying the same firmware using the Hikvision tftp updater tool.

Hi alastairstevenson,
I hope you can help me. I am going to try to fix this camera to allow the use of NAS or SMB/CIFS whatever will work. I searched and posted a couple of thread about the issue but it seems this is a bug and no solution I can tell.
Even if it brick the camera, I will try to flash a firmware and hope it fixes the NAS issue.
Could you please tell me details on what version I have and what firmware would be compatible and where I can download? I would be very grateful.
Details of the camera:
Model DS-2CD3345-I
Serial No. DS-2CD3345-I20180625AAWRC31501608
Firmware Version V5.4.52 build 170527
Encoding Version V7.3 build 170526
Web Version V4.0.1 build 160712
Plugin Version V3.0.6.5

I am not sure it is a China camera but I do have English webui. The camera is unupgradeable. I will utilize the TTL and TFTP method to push the firmware. Just let know the firmware version and I will read up what needs to be done.

The serial number doesn't suggest it's a Chinese camera. But that info can be faked.
The camera is unupgradeable.
If this is what the product information from the seller showed, it probably implies that it's running some hacked firmware to give English menus.
If it's not updateable, then it's likely that any attempted firmware update will break the camera.

I am going to try to fix this camera to allow the use of NAS or SMB/CIFS whatever will work
What's the actual problem with this?
By NAS do you mean NFS?

Model DS-2CD3345-I
Another forum member was recently trying to apply various firmware versions for the same model.
He was not successful.
I'm not sure what model series that camera is, and suspect it may be a Chinese model.
Perhaps others will comment.

The camera works but for my case since I don't have an NVR. I have no idea it will work with the NVR even if I plug it in. Right now since I can't store the recording anywhere, I can only set up email snapshot and live view.

Yes, NAS, network storage to NFS or SMB/CIFS protocol. I tried to set up both following suggestion from few to set to less than 100GB. I set to 64GB and everything is detected but it will not save the video where I set it to motion or to time period. The only thing I can see are snapshots. The video are unplayable.

As long as someone can tell me an equivalent firmware, I will test it out even if it bricks it.

Translation, in case others may be able to assist :
It's a good day for everyone!

There is a camera DS-2DF7286-A, took with hands not new with firmware 4.x. When connected it turned out that in its settings (through the web interface or through ivms-4200) there is no way to connect to the cloud service hikvision (no point with the settings of the access platform).
Went to the manufacturer's website - I look at version 5.5.0 in the description to the firmware it is written that this feature (Platform access) is added. Downloaded the firmware poured it through tftp (because through the web camera did not want to sew any), but the function with Platform access never appeared. I tried all the firmware before the last 5.5.71 and back to 4.x. rolled back, and consistently put them - zero without result ...

Tell me how you can add this feature, I really need it.
