If might be possible to flash over USB. I certainly would plug it in to power when attempting to update.
Recent versions of VDPConfig appear to have support for DB (doorbell) products.

You'd have to use a version from 2018 and supply USB power at the same time. I saw a screenshot from VDPConfig that showed DB as a product type, but idk if it works with this.
Since this is wireless, it looks designed to easily lift out for recharging. Is there a way to secure it to the mount \ wall so someone does not just lift it off the wall and take it home with them?

A little disappointing. Really looking forward to an IP based Starvis sensor equipped door cam that works through an NVR like the rest of our cameras.

I'd be happy with one that did PoE. This WiFi crap is for the birds. I'd rather go through the hell of getting a CATx cable to the front door than have to deal with the unreliability of WiFi any day. A Starvis sensor would be well worth the cost as well but I also want control of the IR. All that probably makes it too big for a doorbell camera though.
I shared a sample recording in a post above.
App still crashes when clicking on a push alert.
Motion sensor at times is a little slow to turn on the cam and recording.
Other than that, it's working ok.
Not had to charge it yet since first charge.

I bought a 16gb MicroSD card, DB10 recognized it and shows the correct space. No matter what I tried, the the 64gb card would never work, although it worked fine in anything else I tried it in.
VDPconfig does not find it. With USB plugged into a computer, nothing is recognized by the computer.
I can stand 5 feet from the Wifi router, looking at it, and maybe 1 out 10 tries, it will connect and work correctly when pressing the call button. And when it does connect, I may or may not receive video, I may get a failed connect.
If the app is not already open on the phone, pressing the call button results in a push notification, that says callNOanswer. Same appears in the log.
When I receive a push notification, pressing on said notification will most of the time result in Lechange has closed.
This is all while standing looking at the router.
When mounted outside by the door, I have never been able to get the call button to work as it should, meaning I never get any video or chance to answer, just get a connection failed.
Yet, I can use my phone, and live monitor the video, just fine without problem, with it mounted outdoors.
When mounted outside, it is 25ft *edited* 18ft from the router, through two walls.
No matter which timezone I chose, the time remains 2 hrs too fast.
No audio is recorded with video that is recorded on a motion alert.

I took another look a the spec sheet and there's a simple and sad potential explanation for most of the connectivity issues...
At this point IMHO the DB10 is basically just an embarrassment to the Dahua brand. Ill conceived on many levels. Mixed g/n networks tend to have performance issues. It's been over 8 years since the 802.11n standard was finalized, it's pretty hard to justify selling a 802.11g only device in 2018.
EDIT: It looks like the missing n was just a typo.

I've also been playing around with it for the last week.
Experienced everything looney2ns has said and to add to it, I cant even change the admin password.
The only way to change it seems to be through the Lechange app, but when I select change password the QR code scans but wont go any further.
I also managed to get it running on SmartPSS just through the IP address, but this will only show the live stream and wont give any notifications.

Umm, I didn't get an alert for replies to this, been occurring a lot lately.

Everything I've read only shows the b/g wifi.
From my routers client list. All the issue's even with it showing a reasonably good connection. Wonder if maybe Dahua didn't actually manufacturer it. 正基科技 AMPAK Technology : Advanced Module Packaging Solution
I've not been able to get SmartPSS to recognize it's existence.
I now notice that it will record on motion, then if someone comes up to the cam a minute later, no motion is detected for a while.
I'll have to admit, it's been one of the most frustrating pieces of gear I've ever came across.

Looking at AMPAK's english site, I didn't see any products that weren't actually 802.11n. However they all referenced old draft versions of 802.11n.
So there's a chance that the hardware was supposed to support 802.11n, but they either didn't manage to get the software working or the chipset is just so awful they had to just disable 802.11n in an attempt to ship something other than a paperweight (they didn't succeed). It doesn't inspire confidence in these product lines when the DB10 is so bad and the recent VTO3211D-P2 which claims to be 1080p actually only outputs 720p (though it's probably still their best VTO).
If you look closely at certain features of the DB10 it's clear they were trying to copy features found on ring and failing miserably. Even ring can be powered off of your doorbell wiring. The detail that somebody forgot to mention to or translate for the engineering team is that ring's doorbell's were horrible at first. Hikvision on the other hand has produced a decent doorbell, it has issues too but nothing like this. If only they had put a little more original thought into it and built a product based on their strengths, competing more with the Ring Video Doorbell Elite.

i believe just like with their cam's initial firmware release's, they are not doing the QC they brag about in their PR with software/firmware.
I mean come'on, the DB10 only took a grunt like me 15 minutes to figure out it has many, many issues. And then I spent hours trying to find a cure for those issue's. The average Joe will pitch this in the trash pretty quick. Oh, have a mentioned the Lechange app it use's is terrible!
The camera in it it's self is good, just no support for it with the software.
