My SD49225XA-HNR keeps losing track of its actual Pan value. Its normal home view is at Pan 236, approximately south. Sometimes after tracking around the parking lot, it will attempt to return to Pan 236, and it thinks it's arrived at 236, but instead of pointing south it's now aimed west. All the other presets are also offset by the same amount. A full PTZ Restart will recalibrate it to the proper orientation, where 236 is south again, but I can't have it doing PTZ restarts every time it finishes an auto-track
@EMPIRETECANDY did the Dahua guys have any suggestions to fix this?
sd49225xa-hnr-2mp-25x-starlight-ir-ptz = 2 new and exciting features of this cam are SMD+ (Smart Morion Detection) and Deep IVS along with Pro AI features. Auto trackingThis is a great thread. What is the difference between the sd49225xa-hnr-2mp-25x-starlight-ir-ptz camera and the SD49225T-HN IP Camera 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera?
I am looking for a PTZ camera for a large secure gated area that will give me clear pictures of faces and plate numbers.
Thanks for the reply. The camera is going in a very secure area. I am not worried to much about security I am more focused on being able to identify a face or a vehicle for safety reasons. I see one camera says IP in the title and one doesnt. SD49225T-HN IP Camera 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ = no auto tracking, this model doesn't have a lot of the PRO AI features. It is a great PTZ camera as i just recieived this model and i love it for what i am using it for. I am using it right now for license plate reading. Which requires the picture to be zoomed in real close to get good plate recognition. It also requiers a fast shutter which will result in a black screen at night until a car passes. So you have to decide what it is you want before diving in. And for facial recognition you still have to get your camera to be zoomed in close to the sidewalk or automobile in order to get facial identification when a snap shot is taken from video capture. Example to cover your driveway area it would be best to have a camera for over view and then another camera in the same location pointing in the same area zoomed in closer to the driveway to get good facial capture. This is what i am learning from all the forums and members on this board. If you want license plate numbers you need a dedicated camera zoomed in close to the street or entrance. Check out these forums on plate number reader camera solution.
This is becoming more of a problem with Dahua's PTZ series in the lower cost models. I have a SD22204UE-GN that suffers the same issue of losing it's 'return to home' setting. Only when I do a PTZ Restart, is the problem resolved. I am losing my confidence in Dahua products with all their firmware issues lately.My camera is suffering this problem also as I set the Home position ( PRESET 1 ) and after the tracking has been utilised a few times it looses the home position so my trip wires and intrusion zones I have set are off axis. Also when the camera is reset from PTZ Restart it finds Home again which is set to preset 1. I really hope Andy can help fix this problem.
From what i understand they are both IP cameras. In the titles the letters and numbers usually indicate different functions a model might have. But they are usually all IP (internet Protocol). Which means it can be powered of ethernet Cat5 or cat6 cable, and can be viewable over the internet. And as far as identifying faces the best is to be able to have a zoomed in camera. Unless you will have some one monitoring the PTZ camera and can manually do the zooming at time a person comes onto property, i think using more than one camera is best for all locations. You can also set presets in a PTZ camera to go to a certain location after motion is sensed and zoom in, but again it is hit and miss. I think the best thing to do is get a PTZ and test it for your location. Good luckThanks for the reply. The camera is going in a very secure area. Right click in the blu iris window and select layout. Layout gives you different views, some views will be larger than others you can decide which camera you want to be bigger than others.I just got my camera installed. Need to redo all the settings for it's new view.
Why does BI display show a smaller field of view than when I double click the video?
Also, when im logged into the cameras GUI the tracking works great, but when I close out and just view through BI, it's just static camera.
@Wildcat_1
Agreed. @EMPIRETECANDY is Dahua interested in our bug? My camera is getting worse. Here is video of it doing a PTZ Restart. When it finishes the PTZ restart, it tries to reach Preset 1 and you can see it turns left a few degrees, while the PTZ Pan value jumps from 0 to 151 as if it had turned 151 degrees.I find it disappointing also and Dahua shouldn't be selling a so called Ai camera with these problems unless it's faulty cameras being sold.
I hope Dahua fetch a firmware fix out as I quite like the auto tracking feature on the camera when it works.
