If you have an SD card in the PTZ, suggest you watch a playback and turn on the rules info during playback. It appears to me that the PTZ is locking in to something else in the image and that is the reason why it stops tracking. You will be able to see that subject locking during playback in the GUI only, not thru BI. If that is the case, @Wildcat_1 knows all the tricks to fix that for you!

Not sure what the reflection is from.. appears to be a weird artifact from the target wearing a reflective vest. I watched the playback through the camera with the IVS rules showing. When he walks by the license plate, the camera sticks to the plate. So its something to do with the reflective vest and reflective plate.

I watched through a bunch more clips from the SD card and when it looses a target it appears to be when the target and background are similar in color/contrast. I watched through a few days worth of clips and it did a fairly good job of tacking. If anything I need to play with the image settings more for night viewing to fine-tune it.

A successful track example. If it weren't for that tree I'm confident it would keep on tracking.

@th182 - yeah that is a good track, and a big tree to get around!

Tracking with the rules showing is a great way to troubleshoot and figure out what is going on.

When @Wildcat_1 jumped on my machine, he was able to adjust gamma and contrast and brightness to pretty much eliminate the similar contrast issue. He has a few more tricks up his sleeve too. He might have a suggestion for that tree to if you really want it to track past the tree.

I have a lamp post that is in between the camera and the target on the area and while tracking the subject completely disappears behind it and for all but the small kids, he got it to track past. Here is a crop of the lamp post with a subject blocked by it - the camera zooms 3 times to this point and then after the subject passes this spot a couple times it jumps to 10x zoom and then a little later 25x zoom. @Wildcat_1 is a magician with these things!

For my night settings, he actually took it a little darker (opposite of what you would think to do) to allow the camera to track the subject better than a similar contrast in the background. He probably has a suggestion on how to get that plate to not be "tracked" at night.

I may take him up on that! I’ve debated moving the camera so it’s farther from the tree, so the tree looks smaller and is hopefully easier to get by.

To Be Honest it's the smallest PTZ I have had but if your worried what it looks like then maybe it's not for you. I am the total opposite I don't give a shit what it looks like as long as I know our property and family are protected why we are at home and away at our second home.

You have to ask yourself do you really need a PTZ or can you not use a couple of fixed cams.

I'm having a little trouble understanding some terms under the Deep IVS options. Namely

Record Delay
Relay-Out>Alarm Delay

I'm trying to get my 49225XA-HNR to do the following. (Using a 4208-8p-4KS2 NVR with this)


When a target trips the Tripwire or Intrusion zone, I'd like it to track it for the maximum amount of time (300s) until the target disappears or leaves, while recording of course.

Problems:
The camera is tracking for a couple seconds and then resets to the preset it was on.
e.g Intrusion is tripped on Preset 4, Camera tracks target for a couple seconds and resets back to Preset 4, if the target is still in the zone it trips again and this repeats. This results in a lot of small clips being recorded, rather than one intrusion event.

Questions

1) What is the Alarm Delay and is it required? Is it related to the Alarm Track Time at all?
2) Is it required to have the Alarm enabled? (Picture Below)

4) Is the Alarm Track (Auto Tracking) Time dependent on the preset's time during a tour? I have a Tour set up for 4 presets. The time for each preset is 60 seconds. If the time that the camera lingers on one preset is less than the Alarm Track time will it track for 300s if triggered?

Definitely suggest you go back through my thread here as I and others address the Alarm Track time in numerous posts and how best to configure the camera to maximize this.

I also posted separately about the recording option features HERE so take a look at that and I think that will assist you with understanding of record delay etc

With regards to your questions:
  1. Review the post I mentioned on recording functions and features
  2. Alarm Track is what you need under the IVS rules to have the camera Auto Track. However as you see me mention in this thread you then need to configure the camera for tracking target size, define your rules etc for your specific FOV and the target type(s) you want to track to improve the cameras tracking therefore allowing it to track consistently and continuously. You will very very rarely need full 300ms of tracking time nor will you see a cam track for that long even under the best situations. Better to reduce this to around 45 to 60 seconds, let it return to its preset and then worst case start the track again if it needs to and if the target is still in the FOV.
  3. You don't need to configure Alarm for Auto Track to work

Maybe I’m crazy but I just ordered a second one of these from Andy! I put one of my Amcrest cheap PTZs on my shed to watch a trap for a squirrel problem..I like that where it is you can see my entire back yard. So now I have another of these coming so I can put it out there to watch the yard and my dogs!

Bahahaha! I had some significant overtime last month so I have a little spending money! My shed is at the back of my yard so I plan to face it back towards the house. Probably program my home automation to call presets when the back house or garage doors are opened. This is likely the last camera addition for some time.
