Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Dug through all this and have older Dahua NVR how do I turn auto tracking on ?
This is the camera function screen.function screen.png

i made a short video showing the steps.
  • setting up new preset
  • setting Smart Plan
  • Setting up IVS rules

The only thing you need to think of, that you don't see in the video is when you're drawing the IVS rules (Tripwire, intrusion etc) you need to right click to exit the "draw mode".

Tracking seems to be doing well.
What I can't get is the log markings on the recording bar in playback.
There is a way to log every time it tracks correct ?

Thanks

You have to many Presets for my liking. I would advise only 2.

To many presets are not good because you have to remember this camera is the budget end of the Dahua End and the CPU power like a PC is limited.
I would only have 2 max on the 49225xa.

I have 7 presets configured on mine but only have them triggered when fixed cameras nearby trigger them

I only have 2 that was trying to setup earlier.

My main question now is log marks when viewing playback on recordings.
How do I get it to log every time it tracks ?

Do you mean the PTZ-presets or too many IVS rules/presets?
I have like 15 Presets on my 49225, but only one preset with IVS rules.
Can't imagine why "only PTZ-Presetz" would have an impact on the performance of the camera.

Andy was kind enough to provide me with a new firmware he just got:
V2.810.10O8000.0.R.P9.2522.UN.NR, Build Date: 2021-09-24

I've installed it just on one camera at the moment. Perform factory default twice, flash firmware, perform two more factory defaults, then restore backed up settings. Unfortunately, very few of the settings restored, so essentially it's like setting up the camera from scratch.

The issue with Blue Iris enabling Motion Detection and Video Tamper when "Get ONVIF trigger events" is enabled, seems to be fixed. There are many new options in Deep IVS, unfortunately for me, no animal detection. There is a new AI Live tab. I'll let someone who knows these cameras do a proper review on the new firmware.

Does this new firmware play well with chrome or other non IE browsers? I know some settings only stick if you use IE but that is going away from windows eventually.

I only tried Firefox briefly to do the factory defaults, installed the firmware, and do the very basic config such as setting the password.

Though, one problem I have now encountered is the new IE plugin that gets installed with the new firmware, does not show any video when connecting to any cameras that use the older 20200312 firmware. Not sure what I'm going to do now. LOL Either roll back, or see if Firefox can configure the new firmware and somehow roll back the IE plugin.

Oh boy. That’s certainly a problem! My guess is it’s going to require updates to all cameras. Which would probably introduce other bugs.

So a few observations. Under PTZ Function, there is now an Intelligence where you can enable Auto Track. I was hoping that this would remove the filter and it would track any movement such as animals. Though I have not been able to test that yet.

Under Deep IVS, there is now a Global Setup for each preset: DahuaWiki

I'm thinking I'm going to try and calibrate the region in order to have Auto Tracking start working well again. I have a field with a path behind my house and with the 20200312 firmware it would auto track people walking on the path 200-300 yards away with no problem. Now it's not even picking them up. It seems to "mostly" track closer objects that are less than 50 yards, but it does not seem as consistent at this point.
