SMTSEC 5MP Low LIght 1/2" Sony IMX178 Dome

Hi,
I currently have 2 problems with my new camera.
1. send email at alarm with SMTP only possible with SSL
In Europe / Germany only SMTP with TLS is possible.
2. Video transfer settings are lost after the camera is restarted.
Settings are then very bad, picture quality then very bad!

Hi Dragon, I REALLY should have looked here before I bought one of the P-Iris cameras...I have theexact same issues as you. It's not a P-Iris and SMTSEC are ignoring my emails. That makes me sad and poor!

My only option now is to grab another lens and use the module for soemthing else. Sigh.
 
Anyone noticed these cameras open an external port via upnp through your firewall?
The port forward goes to port 34102 of the camera which has the main camera process (fx256) listening on it. I've not yet worked out what this port is for.

Below is a list of the ports the camera listens on an what process is listening. It's only port 34102 that is forwarded via upnp and the external port number seems to vary depending on how many cameras are connected.

Playing with fire if you allow any LAN device to mess with your router firewall.
Best turn UPnP off on the router. And leave it off.

Does the camera have a P2P capability? If so, and it's on, disable it.
 
Quite agree Alastair, it's a new router that I hadn't locked down yet.

I've not seen a P2P capability in the config yet, but I've not had much time to play with the cameras so far.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that huh :)

I run pfsense and have my cams running on a separate vlan which is blocked from access the internet and any of my lan subnets. I have specific IP's to open connections IN to the cam vlan.
That way is someone rips a cam off an external wall, they do not have access to anything on my network (other than the other cams).

PS. I also assume all devices from china have spyware.

When I have mine up and running they will all be firewalled off, still playing with them at the moment. I doubt security is something they are bothered with, it only took a couple of minutes to find a command injection vulnerability and get a root shell on the camera (although the vulnerability is post auth).
 
Simply set the ntp server url to `telnetd -p26 -l/bin/sh` (those are backticks not single quotes). Once you hit save there will be a telnet server running on port 26 that doesn't require a login. Use this to create yourself a linux user with root privs and then in future you can login via the standard telnet server that is running and also set your ntp server back to it's original value.

That used to be a trick you could play with Hikvision cameras until they improved their command filtering.
'Not support 3' or some such.

1 - Could you kindly tell what signals the BNC connector outputs ie composite or SDI? What SDI resolution; HD 1080p?

I'm a filmmaker and thinking of using this as an aerial mount [aka geographic, full shot] in my event coverage. My workflow is in HD-SDI. I like the 1/2inch cmos sensors as its close to our cameras (1/2inch, 3cmos exmor) and could double as security camera included in our video mixdown.

2 - I'm sorry but could you guide on how best to control the camera PTZ from a PC?
My video mixer can accept RTSP/TSstream over UDP/TCP as well as http:// streams. Can same cat6 cabling control the camera & also deliver HD video into my mixer? We dont need to encode video, its public events. I see this also supports P2P.

3 - Could you kindly post a sample video of this, daytime?
and... maybe upload the user manual if any.
