Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Thank you, somehow I got it to work..:)

I guess I have some reading to do, but I can't delete the POE 1-8 cameras that were automatically setup in the Laview NVR software..(they aren't active, they just pre-populate, even after a fresh reset of everything.)

It would only work if I set it to ONVIF, but without the video feeds you showed...So I can get the camera to display, but the motion detection won't work (says camera doesn't have it..) But we know it has it, as it's built into the app.

Anyone have a link to the newest firmware for Laview? I assume if I update to Laview and I have the Laview NVR, this might work better? I think I can update the firmware directly through the web page of the doorbell cam..

Don't know what firmware version you currently have, but I thought I read someone was using a Laview nvr and the laview doorbell. It was Paul D. He was having issues and someone (lpd82) posted the Laview cam firmware. Check out all of Paul D posts, starting with 310 and his experiences, especially 315 before doing any firmware update.

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the help and direction so far.

I have the RCA brand and using the the HIK ios app. I "shared" the doorbell camera with my wife's account, she gets all the alerts for motion detection but not for doorbell presses. Only my phone/app gets that alert. Any ideas why and how to fix it so multiple phones can get all alerts (press and motion)? Also seems the button press is intermittent even on my phone that does work.

Thanks for any help!

I had just kept the camera as OVNIF, which definitely limited the NVR capabilities, but at least I still had 24x7 recording. It can definitely be set up as a LaView camera though, but will require a little bit of manual config, which is very easy

System --> Camera Management
Select an available camera slot that is not being used. For me it was the 5th line, since I had 4 cameras. Selecting means clicking the line, (not the checkbox like youd expect)
Click Modify
Change it from Plug and Play to manual
Set Protocol to LaView
Make sure management port is set to 8000 (it's 80 for OVNIF)
Enter Laview Username password, IP, etc.
That's it.

I will say that the relationship between the app and the NVR is a bit odd. I gave up and converted back to OVNIF a while back, but with the recent firmware updates, and the comment I decided to try it again.

Currenty, I went into the app and selected the doorbell, removed any motion detection areas, turned off alerts. Then went into nvr settings, and turned on motion detection, selected my area.
Then back to the app, enabled alerts. The motion area was populated as it was configured in my NVR. The app area is not as fine tuned as the NVR.

I'll see how it goes, my only issue that I've had with the doorbell was on previous versions was with motion detection stopped working after a while. I'd have to log into the doorbell to get it back on. But with the latest firmware its been stable.

Well I finally figured it out, a combo of reading everyone's comments and tinkering with it. The resolution for me was getting my RCA doorbell updated with one of the Laview firmware versions....Honestly, I worked on it so long, I am not sure how I got the combo to work, but now it is working, including motion detection, etc. (via NVR as well..) Oh yes, I also updated the Laview NVR firmware, I think that might have been causing the issues prior.

Thanks all

P.S. Paul: It is normal for the Laview NVR to show all available POE's (I have a total of 8) with random IP addresses? I can't delete them. They don't show up under "live" as active cameras, but they do show up (can't select them) as cameras to playback video and to modify...It seems that's just the way it's set up, as I've done a completely fresh firmware update.

I understand that all cameras will be shown in the list. I only have 4 cameras (5 with the doorbell). After adding the camera back today as a LaView protocol, I remember what my issue is. I think its just an NVR setting, any help is appreciated

so on my Laview NVR, Cameras 1-4 are traditional POE cameras, Camera 5 is the doorbell camera. I can go into the NVR and view recorded footage from all 5 Cameras. But, here's whats off.
1. I get a motion alert on the App
2. The screen shot of the Alert shows a pic from the doorbell camera
3. If I go to watch the 30 second clip of the video, it show video from POE Camera #1, not the doorbell.

If I go into the app and select the Doorbell live feed, its the doorbell, if I select Camera 5 feed on the app it's the doorbell. its just when I go to watch history. history on the "doorbell" is Camera 1, History on Camera 5 is Camera 5 as expected.

Just seems to be confusing the history of the doorbell with Camera 1.

I never solved this last time and ended up just switching back on OVNIF for the NVR, which meant I lost a little control on the NVR, but at least my alerts were correct.

I'm getting double notifications between the app and the NVR..I think if I turn off the motion detection grid on the app, that should stop it? Or, just turn off notifications for the app in i0s. So, that brings me to my next issue. I know the NVR is seeing the events, I can see them in the logs (and I can hear the audible warning.) But, and I know many people have had this issue, I cannot get the NVR to email me. I've followed instructions on specific things you need to do with the Gmail account (less secure settings, etc..) Nada....Any have luck with emails from this NVR?

Installed the new firmware on my hikvision, findings are:

-web admin page now accessible from Internet Explorer.
-wifi: no issues (testing was quite a distance from router)
-web admin pages now allow edit of display elements, like camera name. Mine was always "camera 01". this can now be changed. along wth the usual OSD elements.
-DHCP was disabled and a static ip of 192.168.0.111 was assigned. Can be changed in SADP.
-Streaming: usual RTSP url no longer works, need to test other formats.
-Streaming protocol ONVIF now enabled.
-Streaming protocol HIKVISION now enabled.
-Motion alerts now sent HikVision NVR for Smart Alerts.
-Motion sense areas can now be set.
-Can be added to HikVision NVR using Auto/Plug and Play. No need for custom add or custom protocol.
-Overall very stable.

testing will coninue...

cheers

Gus

Hi Gus. How do you know ONVIF has been enabled? Do you know if it is enabled by default, or if it has to be enabled through the web interface. Installed the firmware, but do no see anything about ONVIF in the web interface. I cannot get the camera to work in TinyCam on my phone, or in QVR Pro on my QNAP NAS using various generic ONVIF camera profiles. I am near my wits end. There are a lot of things that I do not like about this camera, but I could probably forgive most if not all of them if I can get this camera to work via ONVIF so I can use it with QVR Pro.

According to this page, it appears QVR can connect using RTSP, you could try that (/Streaming/Channels/101 or /mpeg4/ch01/main/av_stream):
QNAP Security - Network Surveillance Solution Provider

There is a windows program someone wrote to detect ONVIF information, you might want to check it out to see if the cam is truly compliant:
Onvif Device Manager v2.2.250

I searched and found bits and pieces, but here is how I configured my RCA HSDB1 from eBay.

I wired it up and waited for it to ask me to config wifi. I used the HIK Connect app (they are all the same) and signed up for an account and followed prompts to connect to Wifi. I checked my wifi router for the device IP.

I opened up BI and did the settings in the attached photo. It seems to work fine for me so far with pretty clear streaming and alerts still working through the HIK Connect app.

Finally figured out how to get email notifications through the NVR - I guess my DNS settings were set up. Anyways, I have a new issue that I haven't seen before and I'm wondering if it's the way it's configured. I log into the camera through the web page and set the motion alert grid, turn it on, etc. I also went into the NVR and also turned it on for the camera. There's no way to link the camera to email on motion directly through the programming, so I went into the NVR and basically duplicated the motion setting for the camera and also linked it to email me.

Anyways, it seems to work once, but as soon as motion is detected, the "enable motion detection" is getting unchecked.....and yes, it was saved on the camera, so I have no idea how it is getting unchecked...I have it set up for 24/7 on the calendar setting part. Any ideas?

I tried to see if I could rotate the camera and I couldn't but the pictures might be helpful for someone. More than two pictures in the album if you view on Imgur, but only 2 show up here for some reason.

Any not getting notifications when the doorbell is pressed? I think I remember some people talking about in the thread. Not sure what happened, but no notifications anymore and the motion detection is shot..

Have you updated the firmware. I had that issue last month with stock firmware

Well, I recently updated it because I was having a hard time getting the Laview NVR connected to the RCA doorbell. So, I updated the doorbell with Laview firmware, but also updated the Laview NVR, and then it worked. The problem is I don't know if either or both of those caused the doorbell to start working with my NVR, which I really like.

I have Laview firmware version v1.4.62 build 171205. Is there something newer I can download for Laview? I'm afraid if I update it with Hikvision, etc., I'll lose the connection to the NVR. The NVR allowed me to pick the "Laview" protocol, which got it to go online.

I have th LaView branded doorbell and a LaView NVR. I am running the latest Hikvision firmware on the doorbell and am able to select the LaView protocol for the doorbell.

I updated the firmware to V1.4.62 build 171218 and that resolved the motion detection (I think it is sticking, now..) Still lost the doorbell notification on the app..Even tried re-adding the doorbell to the app and it still won't notify me when the doorbell is pressed.

I should note that I at one point I updated with the Clare firmware, so when I log into the doorbell, it still has the Clare logo, but the system is confirming im on V1.4.62 build 171218. Also, the IR has seemed to turn off - nighttime shot is black and white.

Thanks for the pictures. From your pictures, it appears that the IR lights are within the cam module, is that correct? I was thinking of taking mine apart and covering the IR leds, but it doesn't look like it's possible.

No the IR lights are in the housing and have a power cable that connects to the main camera board. I suppose you could just unplug them, but I did not test and mine is mounted now.
