Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I will be willing to test it. I cannot see having a loud audible ding dong on the outside of the door makes any sense. Is there a reason for it?
All I can think of is that it is meant to confirm intercom request or confirm button push, but ding dong isn't appropriate. It's like if you heard your ringtone every time you send a text.

It's so ridiculous that people walking on the other side of the street turn their heads to see what the hell is making that sound .

amazing. Do you have a video of how loud this is? I cannot find anyone that actually rings the doorbell on youtube.

Other doorbells, like Skybell, ring like that when you press the button.. guess it's just a confirmation.

ha. Is that why no one presses the doorbell in these youtube videos?

It would be too much of a liability to install this as I can see someone falling backwards after being scared.

Haha.. it's more like turning the ring volume on your phone all the way up. I'll try to capture a video this weekend

I was able to create the right tar.lzma file with a Linux VM but sadly, looks like there is a cramfs image built into the firmware file, and the tool I'm using doesn't create it. I could try compiling a modified cramfs but that is a bit tricky because I've never done something like that... guess I have to do some reading!! Hopefully there's no checksums or anything of the sort in this firmware file, like many other Hikvision cameras have, but I'm not seeing anything like that however which is a good sign.

Hope you figure it out. That would be great to get rid of.

Yeah I am not even kidding. I am afraid of someone getting hurt. I have seen people get scared at a lot less and don't want to be the cause of anyone breaking something.

What exactly is making this sound. Is it possible to remove that wire and resolder or muffle the sound with something?

Sure but you'll also muffle the two way audio

Interesting, my volume is all the way up and the doorbell noise isn’t that loud.. in fact, it seems like the doorbell noise coming from my actual chime inside is louder than the doorbell itself..

Also, I’ve only heard of people complaining that the doorbell is too quiet, not loud!

Do people really need it. I suppose it is if you are not by your phone?

I might use that feature much. Do you use it with BI app or with the app downloaded?

I don't use it, but it's nice to have. Most of my "visitors" are just Amazon deliveries, which they just leave. Everyone else are just holy people or salesmen, so I just ignore.

Today, I decided to try and figure out why my doorbell has stopped giving me push notifications and alerts when someone rings the doorbell. It stopped for no reason at all about a month ago. When I logged in to my Hik-Connect account, it showed "no devices" under device management. I then decided to try and re-add the doorbell using the serial number of the device and received "Operation failed. The device is added by other users." This has me concerned that maybe someone else has hijacked my doorbell. I also checked to make sure I hadn't used another email to register the doorbell and couldn't find any. I *DO* still have live video via the Guarding Vision app on my phone and on Blue Iris. I just don't get any push notifications and I cannot figure out why they stopped a few weeks ago.

Any ideas what I can do or what has happened?

I had this happen because I have the LaView version of the doorbell. Originally I was able to use either app, and preferred the HK one. now I have to use the LaView one.

I have yet to setup LaView but seeing this a lot. Probably an automatic update that did this?

I’m using the LaView branded doorbell with Hikvision’s “Hik-Connect” app without any problem. Both are up to date.

Any issues with the LaView working with electronic (wired) doorbell / chime? I currently have a Ring 2 hooked up, and I'm debating between the LaView and RCA. Not really sure which one to go with. As long as I can get it connected to Blue Iris, and have the notifications sent to my phone like the ring then I'm good.
