The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

truly cant believe people use these kids toys
Me neither. Maybe people (who don’t find their way here) just don’t know about better. And youtubers praise cams based on image brightness and stand still for testing.

If someone happens to ask for a recommendation, they still go the cheap way (consumer cams) and believe the salesmen about the excellence of those cams. Even, if they could afford a proper setup
Also a counter argument for proper setup is “what if bad guys come with masks?”. Well, proper setup is probably still more useful than blurry ghosts :idk:

The sad thing is, the $100-$200ish cameras we recommend versus an Arlo $200ish cam or a Ring $200ish cam are no comparison in video quality. We are not exactly proposing Top Shelf cameras that costs 5-6 times other cameras - we are recommending cameras comparable in price to consumer favorites Ring and Arlo. Sure you can buy cheaper cameras, but when they shove 8MP on a sensor designed for 2MP, you will get poor results at night.

For most of us, the perps are out at night and that is when we want good video.

Ideal condition for a camera - it is bright and sunny with snow reflecting even more light and the consumer grade camera just doesn't cut it (plus his camera didn't catch it since it was a motion activated consumer camera, but fortunately for him somehow his neighbors Ring captured it):

I'm creating this post asking for help trying to locate this truck. Hopefully someone can help with this. I've been through a LOT the last year so I can't afford to fix someone else's mistake.

I work from home due to ADA from military service disabilities. On the morning of 12Dec24 at 0929, this work truck backed into my truck that was parked in my driveway before pulling out and driving away. I can't read the side of the truck (we've tried enhancing it, ai, editing, frame by frame building, all of it), so I'm wondering if anyone knows the company based on the logo or the truck/gear itself and how to connect with this company/driver. This has been crossposted in many groups and apps and no luck so far. There was a very loud bang when they crashed into the truck (which you can hear at the beginning of the first video taken from down the street), so I'd think they would have noticed, but maybe they thought it was a bump or something (benefit of the doubt). If someone can point me in their direction, it would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Some cheap consumer grade wifi with fake digital autotracking at work here on a bright day. Can you IDENTIFY the package thief:

Digital zoom always makes it better:

Finally the wifi catches up and goes from substream to mainstream. Too bad it is of him leaving, but still kinda poor:

Thanks to motion activated wifi consumer grade cameras, we get Ring missing this porch pirate coming up and literally walking within feet of the camera:

And then they just jumped off the porch instead of taking the steps:
