As an outsider I find the whole yard sign thing interesting. It isn't that big a deal here in Australia. You see one or two around, but I can't say I've ever heard of a politically motivated theft or destruction of one. We have compulsory voting so generally most people are happy to go in every couple of years, vote, pick up a democracy sausage, and move on with their lives. It's just an observation of an outsider, but when you guys do an election, you really go all in.

That sausage looked good :), guess I need to get me a snack, it is 10pm here.

So can I ask you a question, and this is not a derogatory question, can you tell us your take on Rank-Choice Voting and if you are for or against? Thank You.

It has its downsides. Occasionally you see candidates like Ricky Muir, who stuff all people actually voted for, being elected. That's because in Australia we have an option to just put a 1 next to the candidate of your choice, and allow your preferences to flow based on that party's preference agreements with the other parties. Alternatively you can number all of the boxes and your preferences will flow exactly as you want them to. I think it is preferable to first past the post systems because it tends to result in candidates being elected who represent some, if not all, of your political interests. It means the parties need to be more concerned about the whole electorate, rather than just their base, because just having more primary votes than the other candidates, will not win an election. As I said before voting is compulsory, so they can't ignore large chunks of the voters and ever hope to be elected.

Jesus Christ. I would never do this to my Biden sign. This is sick. I have a cam trained on my Biden sign. That's enough.
No. Stealing the sign is sick. Lucky all he got was cuts. He deserves a few months in jail. What this guy, socialist Biden supporters and BLM terrorists don’t understand is that you don’t steal other peoples shit.

I agree. Don't steal, you don't have anything to worry about. Respect others property. Bottom line.

Gotta ask if you watch that camera from your basement with a "lid" on the day.

Lots of Biden Harris signs in my heavily Republican area. It's like that in neighborhoods with lots of government employees. The Joe / Kamel ticket.

My neighbor had the blue Trump sign along with a lot of other candidates. It must've been stolen because now it's gone and there are two black and White Trump signs closer to the house with the others still at the street.

There are also a few Biden signs in my red area. Its funny how they are never stolen or messed with. Its only Trump signs that are stolen. Weird.

He wasn't stealing the sign though. He was a city employee told to move/remove the sign because it was violating easement laws. Poor guy really didn't deserve it. He wasn't doing it out of malice.

He was certainly stealing the sign. If you dispute ownership of property you need to file a civil suit so it can get sorted. More importantly it was not an easement issue it was an ordinance issue. This was 100 percent the owners property. The city is not above the law. This was done intentionally and unlawfully with malice intent for political reason. Disgusting.

Ah. I don't know the legality on that then. The guy sending the employee over should have gone and done it himself then. Looking at other articles online, it looks like they do it all the time and they leave the sign on the property.

More importantly this is a great example of petty and incompetent local governments. What Possible reason could they have two prohibit signs Unless they are setback 33 feet from the center of the roadway? 33 feet is OK 24 feet is not. They are acting like homeowners association pigs.
