Updated NVR firmware published - NVR_78_79_EXX_V3.4.80_160718.zip

All of a sudden I'm liking this 3.4.80 firmware even more.
Contrary to what I thought earlier, it does have what's long been on my wishlist, though not quite matching what QNAP Surveillance Station can do in this area - the ability in the web GUI to show events on the playback timeline superimposed on continuous recording.
What I missed the first time round is an extra icon at the bottom left of the screen, next to the panel selection icon.
On the face of it, selection is possible to add either motion, line crossing detection or intrusion detection to the playback timeline.
Going back to my first test of the firmware, with one camera set to continuous which was normally event and smart event only, motion is added to continuous and shows quite nicely.
See the screenshot below.
I haven't seen line crossing or intrusion detection markings though. I need to do some more tests to explore that.
Looking good!

I updated to 3.4.90 and that little icon to see events on your playback timeline in web gui is grayed out and not clickable for me.. I have two Hik cameras (DS-2CD2342WD-I) so it should work right?

Any idea why it is grayed out for me? (see attached screenshot)

You have to start playing a recording, then it's selectable.

I tried that too, still no luck. :-( I'm wondering if this is an IE plugin issue? I had upgraded that after installing the new firmware as well.

So disgusted that 3.4.80 has not been released for the US market. It would be so nice to simply go through motion events right on the timeline like Dahua does. Considering updating my firmware to non US 3.4.80 but I feel like it's going to only make things worse.

Try it via the web GUI (not the tftp updater) and see if it's happy with it. If it is - you'll appreciate the improvements.
The firmware versions cover these regions, but not all are active in terms of released firmware:

this version 3.4.90.161008 is starting to get unreliable, its to the point now I wake up every morning and a camera has dropped offline, can happen once or twice a day, need to restart the NVR every day now atleast once to get them back online.
anyone know whats going on here??

That's odd, since installing 3.4.90 build 161008 and now 3.4.91 build 161220 it's the first time my DS-7608NI-I2/8P has had zero issues. No random restarts, no problems at all. It's going to take a lot for me to risk an update in the future but we'll see what happens.

yeah, its fixed a lot of my previous issues as well, the random restarting one, but bought on this dropping camera issue now.

Hikvision have published some updated firmware for

on their CN website here : 海康威视——以视频为核心的物联网解决方案和数据运营服务提供商
NVR_78_79_EXX_V3.4.80_160718.zip
I don't see any release notes, and no equivalent yet on the Hikvision Europe site.
It might be the promised Gmail fix.
And maybe some more restrictions ... if they've been paying attention to any new exploits that have got out.
I'll maybe have a peek at it tonight.

I've already recently bricked one of these so really apprehensive whithout making sure I know what I'm doing. This is my model:

DS-7608NI-E2/8P
Firmware Version is V3.4.90, Build 161008

Would I benefit from updating? and if so, where should I download from? Thanks!

Not very helpful know, but
I've not seen any problems at all on that firmware version, running it on 2 7816N-E2 NVRs, it's been fully stable.
But over a couple of years and quite a lot of firmware versions they have all been completely solid.

I was not able to recover it. I did locate the tools needed using TFTP but decided to take advantage of an Amazon return. It was misrepresented and turned out to be a chinese version to which the seller applied some kind of language change. The replacmement I got was an International version, I think.

Thanks for the info. Everything is working ok, though I am still farmiliarizing myself with the system. So far I am pleased with the performance and stability. I think I'll leave well enough alone and wait for a compelling reason to update. Thanks much!

Please anybody can write manual step by step how check it and how update this firmware in china NVR ?

Very very thanks

Anybody can help me please?

I attempted to update the firmware on two devices - nvr and camera - each time I bricked the device. At this point I have decided not to try again until I have some hardware that I can practice on. Since you have a Chinese version, you need to be careful. That is about all I know as I am new like you. Just keep searching the forums for firmware related threads - you are sure to find information and in time, some of the more knowledgeable forum members will reply to your questions.

But some user write in this thread that update FW and also he has the same SN as my AARR
What number you have ? And after bricked devivece ypou restore it o live ?

I did not attempt to restore my unit. I purchased via Amazon and was able to return it and purchase a replacement. My unit was Chinese and had been reconfigured with some kind of an English Language Hack. From what I have read, this is why I bricked it by applying the wrong firmware version. I did not keep a record of the serial number. The unit I have now is International and not Chinese but I have no plans to bother with the firmware for fear of bricking it.
