Upgrading failed after installing firmware

Hello,

I've installed the firmware for serial number : and it fails. I've tried using the webpage, batch configuration utility and also IVMS-4200 and all say the same.

The firmwares have been downloaded from :

I'm speculating a bit:
That you are trying too large a jump from a very old firmware start.
Hikvision have changed the firmware wrapper such the very old firmware may not recognise the new versions well enough to be able to unpack and install.
And Hikvision themselves state that updates must be done in stages.
Unfortunately - they have removed from their website most of the earlier (backdoor vulnerable) versions, so you have limited choice now.

I suggest trying the 5.3.0 version that the USA techsupport site still has available : Value Series
If that works - move on to the 5.4.0 then the 5.4.5 version.
