If you read the article, the NTSB is basing everything off of 1 accident that happened in California a few years ago when a drunk driver hit a F150 pickup truck with 7 kids and an adult in it and it caught on fire. The cab of a F150 doesn't hold 8 people, even with an extended cab.
What are they gonna do with rental cars? Sorry, but I am not suck-starting any vehicle, especially a rental And the government will not control the speed of my car based off of GPS mapping. Sometimes, you need to punch your vehicle to prevent an accident. Throttling your vehicle back will get a lot of people killed. If they want to do something constructive, why don't they make cars sitting in the hammer lane, doing 5 MPH below the speed limit, automatically get back over in the right hand lane, where they belong. I could get behind that idea.
.. and in the age of inflation and cyber attacks and silicon chip supply issues ( repair problems in this game ) .. NO Thankyou .. I want a less connected car, at least when it comes down to the core reliability and functioning
