US Elections (& Politics) :)

Unfortunately, I think the preparedness you are referring to really calls for being away from cities. Probably need to be 20 miles out, MINIMUM, from any area considered part of a "metro" area of a city. The farther out the better.

Yep, one of the reasons we recently sold our place 10 miles from downtown Orlando (Apopka) , and moved to conservative Lake County 30 miles further north ;)

Long Story, China mainland belong to ROC Republic of China (TaiWan) before 1949, and now China said Taiwan belong to PROC. They trying t make 2 places under same China. Like Korea, Kim's Korea and South Korea. :)

Honestly, I have never understood why a deal wasn't done in 1971 that officially recognized Taiwan / ROC was separate from Mainland China / PRC when PRC got the UN seat.

Taiwan is a place which colonied by Spain, Holland, Japan, it come back to ROC after WW2 under the help of US and allies , it's a very beautiful place. I have been there in 2018, and all people there speak Chinese. ;) TaiWan has the best Forbidden City Cultural Relics even than the Forbidden city today, so if you go there will find the best Chinese culture are in Taiwan.

Because the Nationalist Party did a good job of swinging by the national museums in China and gathering things up before jumping on the boat to Taiwan.

Rightly or wrongly, China had ceded Taiwan to Japan in the late 1800's, therefore China should not claim Taiwan....I do realize the Chinese were likely under severe pressure to sign a treaty but none-the-less it's HISTORY. In fact, there are many Taiwanese that would say that the Nationalist Party of China invaded Taiwan and took over in 1949 just four years after the Japanese were kicked out of Taiwan after the war.

East Asia is a place full of war in the past centuries, more land the better. Japan, Korea, China has lots of wars. So US try to keep balance at this place.Check and balance each other ;)
US will not let TaiWan to be a independent state ,or else hard to make balance. So just keep current situation is good for everyone.

This is the single greatest threat we face. A judicial system, our last stand at governing by the rule of law, that is corrupt, partisan and activist.
We were flusterclucked when in the late 1920's the U.S. switched from Constitutional Law to Case Law. Instead of holding a case up to the Constitution, all one needs now is ONE judge to say it's OK and it will forever be allowed. :(

In Latin, stare decisis means "to stand by things decided." In the U.S. legal system, this Latin phrase represents the "doctrine of precedent, under which a court must follow earlier decisions when the same points arise again in litigation." (Black's Law Dictionary, 11th ed.)

Whole world is full of war, sadly, but according to Charles Darwin..."survival of the fittest" baby
