We should have done that in 1991 ... instead we ( USA, UK, Russia ) promised Ukraine support if they gave up their nukes ( see Lisbon Protocol )

During Friday's White House briefing, Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the cocaine found in the White House last weekend belonged to any member of the Biden family.
Jean-Pierre didn't say "no," but did provide this attempted alibi:
"The Biden family was not here. They were not here. They were at Camp David. They were not here Friday. They were not here Saturday. They were not here Sunday. They were not even here Monday. They came back on Tuesday.
So to ask that question is incredibly irresponsible."
Here's how that unfolded:
KJP says that "irresponsible reporting" is alleging that the cocaine found in the White House might have belonged to the Biden family.

And is there a red line for how much violence will be tolerated against civilians in this manner that’s illegal and potentially a war crime?
MS. PSAKI: It is — it would be. I don’t have any confirmation of that. We have seen the reports. If that were true, it would potentially be a war crime.
Obviously, there are a range of international fora that would assess that. So, certainly, we would look to that to be a part of that conversation.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 thousands of nuclear weapons were left in Ukraine. Ukraine decided to give up those weapons for a guarantee of security from the US, UK and Russia in an agreement called the Budapest Memorandum. We were bound to support them after Russia invaded. In fact we should have done much more. IF nothing had been done Russia would have most probably have continued on to other countries like Poland. Putin's goal is to restore Russia to its previous Imperial boundaries under the Czars. As it turns out Russia's military has been shown to be weak and ineffective
