Is there a big difference in the 5400 vs 7200.
Anyone have experience with the two.

So what would you recommend for a 4tb hd150 MB/s vs 200 MB/s for the 4tb drive.
Some of the tech spec advantages of the Black 7200 over the Purple 5400 mean nothing in a surveillance application such as buffer cache.
Actually, way more than that, ignoring the performance effects of writing multiple independent streams. You could have 30 cameras easy on a single purple 5400.
WD Purple Surveillance Internal Hard Drive | Western Digital (WD)they never give the detail/calculations though.
because they dont want folks using standard 5400 rpm drives...I just received my NVR5424-24P-4KS2 from Andy. It can hold up to four 8TB HDD drives. I was planning on using WD purple 5400 rpm drives but the NVR instructions says to please use HDD of 7200 RPM or higher and not to use PC HDD. I know the reason for not to using a PC HDD but why would the manufacturer insist on 7200 RPM if it makes no difference between 5400 and 7200 in a surveillance system?
The NVR from Andy is unbranded but I'm assuming its a Dahua.
I dont know exactly. The 52(32/16)-16p-4ks2e, has the E. Stands for the epoe, 8ports are epoe for 800m.Guido87,
How do you know your NVR is V2.00? I was looking at the NVR's Andy has on his website and I did see anything that said V2.00 on any of them. I received my NVR5424-24P-4KS2 from @EMPIRETECANDY last week and would like to know if mine V2.00.
