Which Cameras/Setup would go for with your home?

Looking at what appears to be part 1, and the cameras look like the older models included in the kit. Thus I would hope to see better IR performance with the newer camera models.

Was the kit posted this week on Newegg the newer camera models or the older ones?

Thanks for the hd advice. I mean in the video, there's a amcrest Poe camera example around the 2:35 mark. Was wondering if that's the quality I could expect with the 2.1 laview cameras I ordered?
 
I also have Ring Spotlight Cam Wired on the way will be installed at my entrance door.
-I have a router less than 7' away so, this shouldn't much of an issue with wifi connection.
Along with this setup will be pair with my 3TB WD Red spare HDD I have for my NAS.
I also wonder if I could still hook up my old Foscam 720p non-PoE to this DVR.

Would love to know how the wd red works.

I decided to not cheap out and went with the 2tb wd purple just to have somewhat a peace of mind.

I found someone who said they'll put it up for $200, wondering if I should get them or is it simple to diy?

Here's a idea of where I'm thinking to install them. In the pics above (I circled where the camera would go), they would probably settle under a Eve (approx. 8ft in height). And be positioned like in a triangle where the first camera would be point in the direction of the far right and vice Versa.

Any thoughts ideas or suggestions.

Hi Gary,

If you are tight on money you should be able to DIY without too much difficulty if you have access to the attic. Just have a friend help you when you do the cabling pulls.

Hi Gary,

Looks like a good spot to test and see how well they work for you. Remember we never really know how good a proposed placement is until we test the camera during both the day and night and with a subject wearing a baseball cap and hoodie.

Sometimes moving a camera just a couple of feet makes a significant difference.
 
Sure! I think it's @looney2ns that likes here to suggest a 5 gal. bucket, stick a length of 2x4 in it, hold the pipe plumb, fill it with gravel or rocks, screw or wire-tie the cam to it, use a l-o-n-g Ethernet cable and move it around to find a sweet spot.
When you're happy with cam #1, take a photo, make some notes and move on to cam #2, and so on.
FYI, cam height should not be over 8 ft. high.
