Any guesses on how far the light source is from my camera in that shot?
Appears to be a strong street light backlighting the vehicle and yard, and a weak fill light possibly below the camera (driveway light(s)?). Unknown angled surfaces make the location difficult, but at least one lamp is nearby. The fog is very light, near the level of a slight drizzle rather than fog. Removing the other house and lighting, the shot looks similar to my driveway lights on with the camera in IR-sensitive mode, with IR disabled. One light is 2 feet down, 1 foot over, and 1 foot back from the camera.

When we get fog, visibility is non-existent past a couple hundred feet. Bad fog provides no vision beyond 50-feet. The "IR" shot posted looks like what one would expect with IR when experiencing 200-ft visibility fog.

Infrared in general is poor for penetrating glass though. That's a different issue altogether and one would hope the vehicle's interior lights provide enough output to ID anyone inside. I know my dome lights are a nice 500 lumens of high CRI light in my vehicles, so output isn't a concern.

7w LED a couple of feet below the camera plus another about 10ft stage right at the same height on the other side of the garage door. I plan on adding either a motion flood on top of the door or an IR illuminator after I knock off a bunch of other more pressing projects.

Sounds about right ;)

Yeah, I mess with lighting way more than a sane person should. I have another kilowatt of LEDs being delivered today. I think I'm approaching 50,000 LEDs, ranging from small 2835 strips to XHP70 emitters. Right now I'm focused on security system and holiday lighting builds before end of October. It something's worth doing, it's worth over-doing, and over-engineering.

I'm a fan of LED flashlights, bike lights, 12v floods, spots, etc. There's no thrill like overkill.

We're also veering a hair off Q's original topic though.

Yeah, boo to insufficient camera discussion.

It's all okay, I'll order one of the Besafe cams in a couple days to play with ;). Seems like a winner for sure. Would be nice to get some direct comparisons to popular cheap Hik 3MP, Dahua 1MP and 3MP, Huisun 2MP, and 4K. I have these sitting on the desk waiting for install sometime in the next few months.

I should've mounted my Besafe and taken some screenshots and video before converting it to 25mm. I've got a bunch of different types around for comparison but most are mounted in different locations and I don't feel like removing a bunch and shooting in a controlled location. I'll have a few different ones after the slow junk from China delivers them and I'll compare them with some other common cams before mounting them elsewhere.

I like how well Q's testing is done. I vote everyone donate to get him a few dozen different poe cameras of varying price ranges!

It may seem simple from the outside, but testing things can quickly consume so much time. A basic "drop in bulb comparison" (especially "LED headlight bulbs") I did to shut up bad info being spewed on a different forum consumed half of my winter vacation last year. Cameras should be much easier though.

2: Left-click on the upper right corner of the browser "Customize and control google chrome", select the drop-down list in the "Settings" to enter the settings page, click on the bottom of the "Advanced Settings", the first "pre-fetching resources to more quickly load the page "checkbox removed, and then click on the" content Settings "to enter the content settings interface, find the" widget ", select" manage all plug-ins ", click enter, find" LsNetClientCtl ", check the "always allowed to run"

THIS...is a VERY good idea!
If you wanted to take on such a task, I'd be down with sending $50. Your positioning in the yard is good, without variables able to greatly skew your results.

I can see the value in other scenes, such as larger properties with fences hundreds of feet away, streets, etc, but someone willing to take some time to test each camera matters much more.

Something else I've seen done before - if someone wanted a product, they'd buy it but have it shipped to a tester's PO box. They could then test, and ship the product to the original buyer. Eventually the tester starts to get products shipped directly to them from manufacturers or stores. Unless the product is a complete dud, it's still marketing.

@AlpineWatch

Does your web interface look like this?

View attachment 13524

This is the new IPCOCX_PX (6.1.4.4) It's activex and, therefore, won't run on Firefox. If you have the old interface (6.1.23.5 which will run on FF), I'd like to have a copy.
@CapeData once again, I believe that the image you have posted (above) is of the OLD web interface...not the new interface.

Here is the Herospeed HsWebPlugin.exe installer which I believe will install IPCOCX_PX 6.1.23.5

This plugin worked for me with Firefox 48.0.

Ummm...sounds too much like work bro; I'll stick to my half-ass when I get around to it if nutin' new is on NetFlix approach. Let's call it Q's NNN Methodology. View attachment 13540

Didn't work with new FW. Thanks for trying.

RE: interface - that's what appeared after updating FW and downloading ipcocx_px.

I haven't heard back from Longse regarding my request for firmware and ocx

Post a screen shot of your System interface screen showing for FW version. Sorry if you've already done this...post another please.

It looks like @CapeData (IMX322) and @AlpineWatch (IMX323) have different sensors...and therefore different cameras.

As I've written before, the Longse LBH24 product matrix specifies that the LBH24S200 comes with the IMX323 sensor and that the LBH24A200 comes with the IMX322 sensor. I believe that the Longse nomenclature identifies the sensor model in the last four (4) digits of the product name ("A200" = IMX322 sensor and "S200" = IMX323 sensor...whereas "S500" = IMX178 sensor).

In addition, I believe that each Longse camera also identifies it's sensor type in the Configuration > System > Firmware version string.

EDIT: Hmmmmmm...unless one can load the IMX322 firmware on the LBH24S200 camera and the IMV323 firmware on the LBH24A200 camera. Someone should try that! For the good of the team fellas!

Except that the camera I received was in a box marked LBH24S200 and had the IMX322 FW installed ?? Don't know if there is any way to identify the A & S models without opening it up.

I requested the FW and software from the AliExpress dealer. This is his most recent response:

hi friend ,can you check your camera is IMX322 or IMX323?
this month our camera from IMX322 updated to IMX323,
and they use different firmware. Firmware upgrade can not make a mistake
