Is there a PoE version of this? Looks like a stand-alone PIR Motion Sensor :D

Get this small spycam. Not sure if good for installing at the front door .
Lol, yes this one, but with CVI version.
Till today i think most guys already get their cams for the HDW5231R-Z, if found any mistake or something else, just let me know, will sort all well. Send email to me is faster and better, i can check it easily.

What is a simple "wife proof " way to disable only the indoor camera alarms when we enter the house?
I believe if you use BI and the phone app you can set geofencing rules, (may be called something different) to auto turn on/off recording of any camera or group of cameras based on where you are, aka within x feet of the home so they will turn off when you come jome and back on when you leave.
I have not yet used that functionality so I cannot comment on jow well it works. Plus I assume it may require you to have your phones GPS always on.

No dice with geofencing on an android phone for me... only option is to reset settings.

without getting in to more details I am very happy with my windows phone.
I don't really use any apps .Apart from the lack of cam app the dual sim lumia 950 fits me great.

unfortunately we have windows phones...
I use EgiGeoZone for geofencing, when I get far enough away from the house, it sends an http command to arm my security system, which also changes my BI profile, when I get close to home, it disarms and changes profiles again. I have no yet put it on my wife's phone because I wanted to thoroughly test it myself, but it's been working great so now I just need to do it.

Any thoughts on why Intrusion Detection didn't trigger below?

The only rule I have setup for this camera is the Intrusion Detection zone in blue. Why would it be green boxing motion out to the sides?

Also there is like no space between the right blue line and the door, all the triplines and stuff need a decent amount of space BEFORE the line to actually detect the motion of your body to then detect it crossing over the line, if you step right into the box it aint gonna do shit, does it trip when you walk in from the driveway? that might work.

Until I get my front overview camera in, this camera has to pull double-duty. The ceiling's in the shot temporarily because I zoomed it out after positioning it. If Andy ships the Ali 5231 orders on Saturday, I really don't feel like physically repositioning this camera now, only to do it again mid-next week. :)

Coming from a three-year old HIK, I really love the IQ from the 5231. The HIK was a 2.8mm and mounted in exactly the same spot as this, so it's FOV was actually a bit wider. It's Tripwire and Intrusion Detection had no problems firing on porch activity, even when there were cars going by at the same time.

I'm still learning the ins/outs of the 5231's IVS features, but so far, they've been a bit of a let down.

enable WDR and play with it, its struggling to pickup objects in that dark shaded area

Wide Angles outdoors suck; you likely dont have enough pixels even in the daytime for a legal ID

IVS Generally works absolutely perfect for me, some environments can be a bit more challenging than others though..

I was modeling it after your cat cam post earlier in the thread, but I didn't catch (until rereading it now) that it sounds like you're using "Appears" and "Cross". I just had "Cross" set. I'll check "Appears" (and fiddle with WDR) and see how that goes.

I appreciate your (and everyone else's) help with this stuff. A lot!

I'm running 12 of these around my house all outdoor (minus one in my garage). Also using Blue Iris.

What are you guys using for Profile Management in these cams (I think default was Full Time Day)? I've just set them all to Normal to see what it does. Thanks

So far the auto settings work fine for me but if I wanted to have specific settings for day and night, you can schedule them to change in the camera, or I might change them with an HTTP API command in a script.

I'm actually using the schedule to change Day/Night profiles. I run exposure auto during the day but set shutter to 1/100 at night. If you let it run auto at night the exposure time seems to get very long so as to cause images to blur due to motion. Makes ID difficult. Also like different WDR settings for day and night. Still learning though.
