Haha thanks! Glad they help :D
Hi Dasstrum...still having no luck getting PTZ to be triggered by other cams and then return to initial position...hoping you can make this a priority for upcoming tutorial!

Thanks!

Quick guide on how to fast forward a recorded clip inside blue iris? Your playback video didn't demonstrate it and I can't find a slider or anything to speed playback up.

The help file is very helpful.."The play button may be clicked multiple times to advance from normal speed to 2x, 4x, on up to 256x"...hit the reverse button to go the other way...

I searched for "fast foward" but didn't find anything, thanks! (Making a more intuitive UI would be helpful too :idk:). Also, who uses chm files anymore, make a wiki lol!

It is right under working with clips...this is a great way to do it because it avoids button clutter and is faster...who cares what format the file is in...just hit the question mark...

How do you enable the motion icons on the timeline?

I never get the little triangles.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to give an update on future videos I have planned (in no particular order).

Clips and archieving
-Moving clips from one drive to another
-Keeping clips from certain cameras longer than others

Reviewing Video Clips
-How to use the "Clips" section and some tips and tricks

Using a webscript to trigger PTZ camera to move to a preset location

Watchdog
-Why you would use this and how to setup

Motion Picture Text Alerts
-Receive a picture message when a camera detects motion

Audio Tab

Mobile Devices and Geofencing

Another video on Blue Iris layout and buttons (advanced features)

How to use/configure Android/iOS app

Camera "Video" tab

Greetings, I would love to see a tutorial on getting the most out of the log files and status pages. The numbers attached to events are not really self evident.
Also maybe an explanation of how notifications work as they are not intuitive.
I have seen local login followed by another local login with no associated logout after the first login..not sure if this is normal.

I must admit it is a credit to the author that BI works well enough using mostly default settings. Prior to my log irregularities I have not had the need to dig deeper into the workings or look at any tutorials up to this point in more than 6 months of use with 10 cameras and more on the way.

Thanks! I plan on releasing a new video every week.

If you guys have suggestions for future videos let me know!
These are great! Thanks.

I'd love a basic tutorial showing me how to use Blue Iris on a hard-drive OTHER than my C drive. If BI should be on the C drive, how do I record all the video to a non-C drive? (I'm talking about a computer with multiple internal hard drives.)

BI is stressing my C drive and cpu so much that it bogs my machine down. If I could off-load all the camera writes to my D drive, I think my C drive (Windows 10 Operation system) would be much more able to keep up.

Thanks!

I am working on a video that covers this very thing. I actually finished it yesterday and @fenderman reviewed it and suggested a few changes. It should be out in the next few days.

Outstanding!

I'm (obviously) new to Blue Iris. There are so many options and no instructions about what they mean and what the trade-offs are. Your videos are fantastic for a newb like me.
Thanks.
